SANDOVAL COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – The Sandoval County Sheriff’s Office has filed a missing endangered persons report for a 20-year-old Autistic man from Cuba, New Mexico.

Austin Hanks was reported missing in August and was last seen July 6, 2016 in Albuquerque, according to SCSO.

The sheriff’s office says they are concerned for Hanks’ welfare due to his special needs related to Autism, limited communication skills, inability to take care of himself or find his way home. Hanks’ family says that he gets angry easily and may need his medication.

Hanks is described as 5-foot, 11 inches tall, about 180 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, blue jeans and had a black backpack.

SCSO says Hanks might be homeless although he has relatives in Albuquerque, or could also be in the Belen area.

Deputies are asking anyone with information about the location of Austin Hanks to call Sandoval County Regional Dispatch at (505)-891-7226 or Sandoval County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division at (505)-867-7529.
