Klymit Static V Luxe Sleeping Pad

At first glance, that hiking trail and campsite offer a beautiful and rich view of Mother Nature’s bounty during the day. But once the sun fades behind the mountains and the stars take their rightful place, the rocky root-riddled earth is the one thing standing between you and a good night’s rest.  That’s why Klymit designed the Static V Luxe Sleeping Pad.

On Performance & Design…
The Klymit Static V Luxe is the newest addition to the Static line of sleeping pads. Unlike the traditional pancake styled sleeping bad, the Static V Luxe features a unique v-chamber design which limits air movement and heat loss while offering a uniquely ergonomic body map optimized for performance and comfort.

And since we don’t all arrive into camp at the appointed hour, you’ll appreciate the fact that the Static V Luxe inflates via two mouth valves in an easy 20-30 breaths. That leaves you with plenty of time to join your camp mates for a round of s’mores and whiskey.  A bomber yet lightweight construction also ensures that the V Luxe will last as long as your adventures.

At three inches thick, and thirty inches wide, the Static V Luxe also offers a solid barrier between you and Mother Nature’s unforgiving side. More importantly, for our 6’4” backwoods wanderer, the 76 inch length and 30 inch width ensured plenty of room on a stable platform. It’s one of the few times we’ve been comfortable without the necessity of an “extra long” sized pad. Simply put, everything about the Static V Luxe pad works with your body to provide greater comfort and a better nights sleep.

Notes from the Field…
If you’re counting grams and drilling holes in the handle of your toothbrush to cut weight, the Static V Luxe isn’t going to fit the bill.  While it provides massive comfort for a five star camping experience, the overall size and weight (26.5) make it far better suited for your base camping/car camping excursions rather than an integral part of your ultralight arsenal.

It’s also worth noting that the Static V-Luxe offers an R-value of 1.3. Translated, that means it’s a great option for warm weather adventures, but lacks the thermal insulation you’ll want for colder weather. But fear not cold weather campers, Klymit also offers the Insulated Static V to keep you cozy and warm in cooler climates.

Bottom Line…
Hike hard. Camp big. Sleep well. The Klymit Static V Luxe sleeping pad is your dreamy refuge in the midsts of nature’s playground.
