Small Wedding on the Seine River Paris

What could be better than getting married in a small wedding on the Seine River in Paris for two boat lovers!  Jodi and Paul are big boat lovers so getting married on the seine was a top priority for their Parisian wedding that was captured by WeddingLight Photography.

The lovely couple met at the party of a mutual friend in L.A and instantly fell in love. As this was a second marriage for both of them they chose to elope and have a small wedding ceremony. Paris of course seemed like the most romantic choice! In the end however they couldn’t resist celebrating with their friends, so flew back to New Orleans after their elopement to have a big reception.

Even though the couple were slightly older and had both had weddings before they still felt nervous on the big day. They even got so flustered that when it came to fitting Paul’s classic bow tie (which came complete with instructions) they had to call upon the hotel concierge to help them out. Once the bow tie hurdle was overcome Paul was dapper in a classic black Armani suit, and Jodi looked simply stunning in a vintage lace dress. The tone was set for a beautiful day.

The photo-shoot started on the rooftop of the Georges V, which photographer Olivier had arranged access to with the hotel.  Our couple then set out with Olivier and WeddingLight Events driver Victor to continue the photo shoot around the city. Jodi had requested most of the photos to be in Black and White, for a classic monochrome look. They visited the Eiffel tower, Place de la Concorde, the seine and its many beautiful bridges; and even managed to rush to the Louvre for a few more romantic shots before the ceremony began.

Everyone was welcomed on board the “Cachemire”, from Yacht de Paris, with a glass of Moet Chandon. As sun set over Paris, the couple said their vows and sealed their love on the deck whilst the crew watched on from the distance. The boat then set out with just the two of them for an evening cruise along the Seine.

Their on board Chef, Guy Krenzer received the prestigious award “Meilleurs Ouvriers de France” (One of the Best Craftsmen of France). This title of distinction is recognized by both professionals and the general public in France, particularly among artisan-merchants such as pastry-makers, hairdressers, butchers, jewellers, and others whose trades are recognized, particularly those creating luxury goods.

As a wine savvy couple they chose, Chablis 1er cru les Montmains Domaine Jean Paul Droin 2011 and Morgan les Corcelletter Domaine Daniel Bouland 2011, to complement their ” diner pour deux “.

And so they sailed off starting their marriage under a beautiful Parisian sky.
