Cops are hunting for a brazen gunman who shot a man in the face point-blank in front of a Brooklyn bodega.
The victim, Shaun Green, 41, was with a little dog on a leash outside the store on Stanley Ave. at Van Siclen Ave. in East New York when the suspect suddenly approached about 8:15 p.m. Sunday, police said.
Shocking footage from a security camera outside the store shows the stocky suspect — who stands about 6-foot-3 and weighs about 230 pounds — calmly walking up to the victim and pulling a pistol out of his pocket.
The shooter points the gun at the man’s face and squeezes off a single round before running off.
The victim threw a hand over his face when he was hit and then ran off. He was picked up nearby by the Emergency Medical Service and rushed to Brookdale University Hospital, where he was placed in a medically induced coma and is in critical condition.
It was not immediately clear why the victim was targeted. A police source said he has 20 arrests on his record, 11 of them sealed. The others include cases for which he was charged with weapons possession, forgery, drug possession and promoting prostitution.
Police urge anyone with information to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers hotline at (800) 577-TIPS.
