STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - An all-hands house fire in New Springville Tuesday afternoon sent one person to the hospital, an FDNY spokesman said.

The fire started at approximately 3:02 pm on the first floor of a two-story home on Radford Street and spread up to the second floor, the spokesman said.

One person suffered a minor injury in the blaze and was taken to Staten Island University Hospital, Ocean Breeze, according to the FDNY.

The fire appeared to have started in the kitchen, located at the back left part of the house, and spread throughout the left side of the house, including to the second floor.

The fire was under control as of 3:39 pm, according to an FDNY spokeswoman.
