The Anti-Wrinkle Guide

For flawless skin, you have to stop smoking. Smoking ruins the collagen in your skin, which is responsible for making your skin firm and tight. Once your collagen breaks down then your skin will sag and wrinkles will form.

Plus, pursing your lips to inhale a cigarette can cause major wrinkle lines around your mouth. Smoking also discolors the skin, dries the skin out, breaks down the nutrients necessary for skin repair, and more.

The next step involves drinking water all day, every day. Our skin, like the rest of the organs in our body, can get dehydrated. When our skin is dehydrated it starts to look saggy and sunken. Water plumps and firms the skin to hide signs of aging.

Also, water can help cut down on acne and breakouts. Now, your body can only absorb a certain amount of water at a time, so it’s important to carry water with you and drink it all day instead of trying to chug large amounts all at once.

While adding water to your daily routine try introducing more healthy foods like vegetables and lean meats, like fish to your diet. Antioxidants that are found in fruits and veggies can help to limit the production of free radicals that damage skin cells.

Nutrients like vitamin C help to repair skin cells and promote growth, for fuller, healthier skin. Vitamin E is another great antioxidant that regulates retinol levels. Retinol boosts collagen, unclogs pores, smooths the skin, and removes discoloration.

Healthy fats like omega 3s are strong anti-inflammatories that help reduce inflammation of your skin. This will reduce redness and puffiness. They also boost collagen and help skin repair. Eating healthy will boost your skin more than you know!

While eating healthy, try to cut sugar out. Sugar can cause your skin to become inflamed, break down elastin in your skin, and damage collagen, leading to wrinkles and sagging skin. Sugar also increases sebum production. Sebum is the natural oil that your skin produces, but when too much of it is produces your cores can become clogged, leading to acne.

Watch out for the sun! Damaging UV rays not only irritate the skin by making it dry, red, and itchy, but it also damages skin cells, leading to sagging, discoloration, and wrinkles. Try wearing a hat, sleeves, and sunscreen when you’ll be outdoors for a while. Also, avoid sunscreens filled with harmful chemicals. Try an all-natural, organic sunscreen that your skin will thank you for.

Avoid drying your face out. This can be achieved by using hydrating facial masks instead of clay ones that will dry your skin out. Use moisturizing cleansers that don’t have alcohol in them and double up on the moisturizer creams. Moisturizers without toxic ingredients are best. Don’t over-wash your face, you don’t want to strip your skin’s natural oils away, and always remember to wash your face before bed.

In order to avoid crow's feet around your eyes take care of them. Squinting can cause lines, so make sure your glasses prescription is up to date so you can read without trouble and carry your sunglasses everywhere! Wear them while you drive or during any situation where the blinding sun could make you squint.

You may want to invest in an eye cream. Eye creams are made specifically for the delicate, thinner skin around your eyes. They help moisturize the skin and improve its collagen and elasticity to prevent dark circles, bags, and wrinkles.

Be sure to make time to rest. You really do need your beauty sleep. As you sleep your skin gets repaired and increased circulation and oxygen goes to your skin, giving it a warm, youthful glow. Sleeping also helps your skin become hydrated and reduces inflammation so you can wake up refreshed.
