Veep's Reid Scott is set to guest star in the season-four premiere of Fox's hit sitcom, E! News has learned. And he'll be the object of leading lady Zooey Deschanel and guest star Jessica Biel's affection.
Scott, who plays the ambitious go-getter Dan Egan alongside Julia Louis-Drefyus on HBO's critically acclaimed comedy, is set to play the charming and nice Ted, the guy Jess (Deschanel) and Kat (Biel) will battle it out over when they all attend the same wedding. (Um, can we please crash these nuptials?)
It was recently announced that Biel would be making her first TV appearance since 7th Heaven on New Girl as Kat, the hottest scientist in the world, who ends up competing with Jess when our heroine and the rest of the gang all challenge each other to get lucky at the last wedding of the season.
And though a newly single Jess will be dating a lot when New Girl returns, fans of her relationship with Nick (Jake Johnson) shouldn't give up hope just yet.
"I love them together and I don't think it's it for them at all," creator Liz Meriwether said at Fox's 2014 Summer TCA Press Tour. "I just found that it's been easier for me to write them as single idiots out in the world trying to get laid and looking for love. I had trouble figuring out where the conflict and comedy was coming from with them last season. Admittedly, it's definitely fun to keep them apart for more."
New Girl returns to Fox on Sept. 16.
