With so much media coverage of social media influences gone wrong, some in the Christian community find themselves boycotting those outlets for various reasons. The internet in general and social media specifically can be very addictive and an easy outlet to vent frustrations and negativity. This devotional book is a guide for those who want to use social media for a higher purpose - connecting to others to share the gospel, bring encouragement, and learn more about the Bible.

There is a different theme for each month, and each day contains a short but thought-provoking devotional based on a scripture. In this regard, it is much like the classic devotionals that we enjoy, but the daily interaction suggested each day is what sets this one apart. Every day brings an opportunity to connect to others online in some meaningful, positive way. Sometimes that is telling a personal story via a social media outlet, other days it involves engaging others on Facebook with intriguing questions, or even occasionally taking a break from the internet altogether.

This devotional is great for anyone looking to reflect on a scripture each day and find a practical way to apply that online. While nothing can substitute for face-to-face engagement with those around us, this can help us redeem our time online for something useful in the kingdom of God. I found that the daily interactions helped me to think of different topics for my personal blog where I typically share my thoughts of various verses of scripture. I also plan to implement some of the ideas provided to use social media to physically bring people together for different events, such as prayer and worship.

In New Testament times, the Roman roads, unparalleled at that point, were used by missionaries carrying the gospel across the Roman Empire. I liked the point brought up in the introduction that the internet is the Roman Road of our time, providing us with an extraordinary way of sharing our faith and witness across geographic boundaries.

As Christians we are called to be in but not of the world. The world is ultimately looking for something different and something genuine. For Christians, our online life is a facet of our personal story and to reflect the reality of the truth by being ... different. This book is a great way to begin to reach others in this way.

I have been actively looking for a good daily devotional reader for the past few months. I was more than a little excited to be able to review the new Jesus Daily: 365 Interactive Devotions by Aaron Tabor MD for Hachette Book Group.

This book of devotions is a small size hardcover book with a very nice in place ribbon bookmark to keep your spot as you move through the daily readings. Each reading starts with a scripture reading and then a short devotion reflecting on the reading. The devotion ends with a way to connect with the JesusDaily.com community to pray or reflect with a wider community. The pages are thick and glossy and this is definitely a keeper of a book and one that would travel well with you.
I have been reading the daily devotions the past couple of weeks. I have found them to be inspirational and a great opportunity to take time out of my busy day to spend a moment in prayerful devotion. I have particularly enjoyed the December readings thus far as they have been devoted to the start of the Christmas story with Mary being visited by the angel and her being willing to say “Yes” to God’s plan. It’s a perfect way to really get into the true meaning of the Christmas season. I have enjoyed reading them on my own, but also sharing them with my family as well.

Jesus Daily is a wonderful devotional and one that I am going to enjoy reading for years to come. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a devotional or for someone to give as a gift to a good friend or loved one.

Jesus Daily encourages personal growth and putting your faith into action. With this in mind, Hachette Book Group sent along a copy for me to share with a family member or friend. I chose to send it to my best friend Jenn. I am Catholic and Jenn is Methodist, but we are both Christian and enjoy the devotional. Jenn says, Jesus Daily is “a daily reminder of why I believe and that no matter what God has our back.” She is also says “it is the right length for a busy person to find useful and uplifting in its reminders that we are not alone facing our daily stresses.” I agree!

This little book really caught my eye when I received it. It's very colorful and has high-quality slick paper inside. I love a book that just feels good in my hand!

I found it so interesting how this devotional came about! Dr. Tabor shares in the beginning about how he felt he wasn't doing enough for Jesus on a daily basis. He is a very busy doctor and even though he would read his Bible daily, his day was consumed with his research. He decided to create a Facebook page that would be devoted to focusing on Jesus every day. It is the most active page on Facebook with over 27 million fans!

This devotional shares a Scripture for the day, then there is a short but powerful devotional for you to reflect on. Then there is a daily interaction called "CONNECT". This challenges us to share with others something about Jesus either on the Facebook page, by email or by using a social media to connect to others. I really love this idea because most of us are on social media off and on during the day and what a wonderful way to share the love of Jesus!

I love the inside of this book - it's so beautiful! When I received this devotional, I was given an extra copy to give to a family member or friend. I gave my copy to my husband and we have been using it as our devotional for our quiet time together. It's been such a great devotional for us both! We have enjoyed sharing our thoughts with our friends and family using our social media. It is easier to share on social media rather than face to face some days and, for me, it's really been great because I'm still home-bound and this gives me a chance to share and have a conversation about Jesus with others online. I really like JESUS DAILY and I highly recommend it! I give it 5 out of 5 stars.

Aaron Tabor, MD, has brought together multiple insights into his book, Jesus Daily 365 Interactive Devotions. He gets you thinking about the simple and tough issues of life, while challenging you to apply what you have learned, with the expectation that it will become a part of your Christian walk by “Connecting.

You can follow him at Jesus Daily on Facebook and be encouraged by others, while doing the same toward others.

I found Dr. Tabor’s book challenging and exciting, little realizing that I’ve been applying some of his suggestions before reading his book. Come along and allow the Lord to lead you in ways you may not have thought about before.

I received this free book in exchange for my honest review from Katie Connors, Online Marketing Manager, Hatchette Book Group. No monetary compensation was received.

I won this in a first reads giveaway. This is a nice compact devotional that is very easy to understand. I have had difficulty with a lot of christian literature since it is very scholarly-this book doesn't have that problem. I like that it provides online avenues to connect with other Christians.
