A 15-year-old boy riding a scooter was seriously injured Wednesday when he was run down by a speeding car in Dorchester.Watch ReportBoston police said a person was struck by a car at Kingdale and Standish streets by a driver who fled."I saw a red car, an Infiniti, coming very fast -- like 55, 60 miles per hour," said one witness. Parts of the Honda scooter could be seen scattered on the street.The driver, identified by police as Manuel Alfonseca, was pursued by police and the car then struck a home as he tried to make a U-turn on a one-way street in Jamaica Plain.Alfonseca, 23, who the district attorney said had a suspended license, abandoned the car and fled on foot, police said, but was taken into custody a short time later.The teen was taken to Boston Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, but is expected to survive.Bail was set at $10,000 for Alfonseca at his arraignment Thursday.
