Aldeen Golf Club

Aldeen Golf Club has raised the bar and set the standard when it comes to upscale public golf in Northern Illinois. Its level of excellence is acknowledged by the critics: Aldeen was ranked the best municipal course in Illinois by Golf Digest in 2009 and rated 4-1/2 stars by the magazine's 2008 "Places to Play" guidebook. Golf Magazine named the course "one of the Thrifty Fifty," a ranking of the top 50 courses in the country under $50, wherein Aldeen earned the 23rd spot.

Aldeen offers eighteen championship holes with carefully manicured greens, tees and fairways. Challenging water hazards figure on 12 of 18 holes, and a total of 62 sand bunkers — including three Dick Nugent-designed "beach bunkers" — lie in wait to swallow up any wayward shots.

Not content with providing only a championship layout, the architects also played up the natural beauty of the land to create the visually stunning total-package that is Aldeen. Keith Creek winds through the front nine and past the signature No. 8, which features a replica of the Swilcan Bridge at St. Andrews. The facility is recognized as an Audubon Cooperative Certified Sanctuary by Audubon International for its responsible land, water and wildlife management, so players enjoy a more natural setting. There are also subtle changes in elevation, mogul-filled roughs and numerous trees.

With a length of 7,058 yards from its longest tees and a maximum course/slope rating of 73.9/130, Aldeen Golf Club successfully melds a championship layout with exceptional aesthetics for a challenging, beautiful and one-of-a-kind test of golf.

Aldeen Golf Club was chosen as the site of the 2013 Illinois State Men's Amateur Championship, and hosted the 2008 Illinois State Men's Senior Amateur Championship, the 2004 Illinois State Women's Amateur Championship and the 2001 Illinois State Men's Amateur Championship. Additionally, the course is recognized by Audubon International as an Audubon Cooperative Certified Sanctuary.
