Anaheim
Fourth of July celebration: The Anaheim Hills Community Council will present its annual Fourth of July celebration featuring the Firecracker 5K/10K run/walk from 7 to 10 a.m., a dog show at 9:30 a.m., a community parade at 1 p.m. and entertainment starting at 5 p.m. Fireworks will close the night’s activities. Dana Point
Fireworks spectacular: The fireworks above Dana Point Harbor will be synchronized with music from radio station KSBR 88.5 FM. Fullerton
Fourth of July festival: Fullerton hosts its 27th annual community fireworks show at Fullerton Union High School stadium. There will be live entertainment, activities for kids and games, food will be for sale. A fireworks show will cap the night. Huntington Beach
Parade: The 112th annual procession down Pacific Coast Highway and up Main Street will feature marching bands, vintage cars, parade floats, horses, performers, celebrity guests and more. Pier Plaza festival: This annual event will begin at 10 a.m. and feature entertainment, vendors, family-friendly activities, radio station KRTH-101, and more at the Huntington Beach Pier. A fireworks show will begin at 9 p.m. Free. VIP seating on pier $10.
Surf City Run: A popular 5-k run from Worthy Park. 1900 Main St., to the ocean and back starts with registration at 6 a.m. The cost ranges from $20 for kids in advance to $40 for adults the day of the race. Information: surfcityrun.com
Pancake breakfast: Sponsored by Kiwanis this event is 7-11 a.m., at Lake Park, 1035 11th St. Cost $5.
Irvine
Concert on the green and fireworks: Celebrate Independece day with food, music, raffle prizes, bounce houses and a fireworks show. Sponsored by the Irvine Police Association, this event features a live music performance by the Derek Bordeaux Group. Stadium seating is available, but families are invited to bring low-backed chairs and blankets to sit on the football field. Celebration: The annual Independence Day celebration includes fireworks, live music performances, raffles and a kids’ zone with carnival games, inflatables and activities at La Habra High School’s stadium. Food and drinks can be brought into the stadium; however, no glass containers or alcohol allowed. Pets also prohibited. Presale wristbands, $3-5. Can be purchased at the La Habra Community Center. Parade and anniversary celebration: The parade, with the theme “Red, White and Blue and 25 Too!” will mark the anniversary of the city’s incorporation.
