I’m still trying to come to grips with my feelings after finishing Sold Out. This is the third or fourth attempt at writing this review.

Part of me is thrilled that I was able to catch up with some of my most favorite characters. I loved seeing Jack and Leila still in love, still loving their life, still making beautiful music together. I loved the glimpse of Hunter’s world too and seeing just what a 180 his personal life has taken—and just how much he’s changed but is still the same old Hunter. And of course, I adored catching up with Trey and Tara too—seeing their love mirrored in each of their faces.

And another part of me is so mad. So damn mad. So damn mad about the twist and turns and heartache that happened. My emotions were ripped out, shredded, pieced together and put back over and over again. And I couldn’t stop reading until I knew just what happened. It took quite a bit of restraint on my part to not throw my kindle across the room at some points, but that still didn’t stop me from wiping my tears and restarting my reading again picking up right where I left off.

It takes amazing talent to wring out such strong emotions through written words. And that’s just what’s been accomplished in Sold Out. ~ Missy, 5 stars

Was lucky enough to be allowed to do an early review of "Sold Out" by getting an ARC. Have to say, this was a most heartfelt story, of a popular band, through the struggles of going from being single, to adapting to finding their loves of their lives. Will take you on an emotional journey as they show you how difficult it can be, the notoriety, no privacy, having a private life, dealing with touring and any other changes. The love of them all, the emotions, the heartbreak, any losses, cannot be helped but to be felt by all. You will love with them, cry with them, share all their emotions, because they are family. Love Jack and Leila, and all the Lairs❤️. We are family!💞

I was so excited to get my hands on this little beauty. Having completely read the entire series by this author, I was looking forward to catching up with the boys. As a reader, I highly recommend that you read this series from the beginning so that you can get to know the characters, take a tour or two, follow their continuous success and the highs and lows of the life of a rock star. Because rock stars are what they are.

On a quick recap, the guys from Devils Lair have gone through many life experiences. We've had deaths, births and marriages. And each member of the band is living their happily ever after. Catching up with Jack and Leila is always a pleasure. I know we're not supposed to have favourites etc etc.... Oh well! Guilty as charged. Haha!

Juggling their passion for music, their passion for each other and adding to their already growing family is proving to be a feat in itself. Leila is about to give birth and still won't slow down. Jack is being jack and continuously moaning at her about it. Nothing new there then.

The rest of the band Hunter, Scott and Trey are all happy and settled until one unexpected moment in time shatters their happiness forever and totally changes the dynamics of this story. I cried. Of course, I did! The pain is so raw, the angst, the feelings that occur leaves you in total shock. You'll sit there with tears running down your face. Have I tempted you into reading this book yet? I sincerely hope so.

As I'm writing this review, my sole purpose is not to reveal too much. No spoilers, I hear you cry! I think I've done a fairly good job at not giving too much away. The love these guys have for each other is so heartwarming it makes your heart melt. They are family and support each other through thick and thin and will always be there for each other. They say time is a good healer. Not everyone thinks so. We shall see.

I really didn't want this book to end. The author took you through every emotion known to man. You smiled when they were happy. I cried when they were all sad. And if an author can make you feel all those emotions in one book, you know she's done a brilliant job and written a great story. The Back-Up series is one of my favourites. I'm always happy to catch up with Devils Lair and I hope to see them again in the not so distant future. Congratulations to A.M Madden author for another beautifully written and enthralling book. #LairLoverForeverAndAlways.

Ms. Madden’s latest book in the “Back Up” Series does not disappoint! “Sold Out” continues the story of Devil’s Lair, a rock band that I wish I could go see on their next tour, and the ups and downs of the music industry, stardom, friendship, family, and love.

The story picks up a few years after Devil’s Lair has made their mark on the industry, and gives us a peek at the band members lives, loves, and losses. It is a beautiful story of love, friendship, and loyalty when tested by both real-world events and music industry demands; and how each member deals with it all. You can’t help but invest yourself in hoping for a happy ending while knowing there’s a very good chance it won’t happen.

Sold Out is so well written I found myself having to be reminded the characters weren’t real, and that the band was never going to tour. I felt like a fan from their bar band days—so happy they made it, yet still yearning for more, wanting to wear my non-existent old worn-out but so soft Devil’s Lair t-shirt to show my love for these guys! But all I could do was read Sold Out from cover to cover in one day, because I just HAD to know what happened!! Don’t miss this one!!!

This Can't Be The End

I am writing this review at 2:30am after just finishing this book. I read this series over the years, in fact The Back Up was one of the first books that set me on my continuing love affair with the rock star genre long before I knew you can review books, however Sold Out brings it all back. Jack and Leila, more in love than ever, raising little rockstars of their own in marital bliss. Hunter, snarky as ever and also becoming settled as is Scott. But for me this story is Trey's. Didn't take me long at all to remember that Trey was actually my favorite in fact starting me on my path to loving the really bad boys, Moody, manwhore, arrogant and sexy as f., but you knew there was so much more to him. Ms Madden wrote this heartbreaking story about band being family and when you hurt they all hurt, but as with family the emotional gamut takes its toll on everyone. I am both happy and angry at the ending. There has to be more, there needs to be more or it truly isn't the end of Devil's Lair.

I was so excited to see a new book in the Back-up series was coming out. I do not get to read as much as life and work get in the way, but when one of your favorite series has a new book come out you make sure to fit it in. I absolutely loved this book and the roller coaster ride of emotions it took me on, I was happy, falling in love all over again, and crying while reading it.

I loved getting more of all my favorite character and seeing where life has taken them. You are brought into their world and you feel all of their emotions both the highs and the lows. The book and series are so well written that you cant help but to become extremely involved with the stories and characters. I highly recommend this book and series. If you haven’t read the series yet what are you waiting for and if you have read the previous books you will absolutely love this next installment.

5 AH-MAZING Stars!!

Oh Ann Marie Madden! I finished this book a week ago, and I’m still struggling to put my feelings into words. You know how you come across a series that just resonates itself within you and you feel like you’re a part of it? That is EXACTLY how The Back-Up Series is for me. So, you can imagine how excited I was to learn I was getting more of one of my favorite series of all times. And yes, I said “I”, because I know she wrote it just for me lol!

In this great new story, we (I’ll share) get more of Jack (my book husband), Leila, Hunter, Scott, and Trey. Sold Out picks up a few months ahead of where the last book left off. The Devil’s Lair is on top of the world in not only their professional lives, but their personal ones as well. Then all of a sudden, one life changing event happens and everything seems to be falling apart. I’m trying not to say too much because I don’t want to give anything away, but this absolutely gutted me. And just when I thought the story would go one way, it totally went the opposite. Just know that even though my heart was totally ripped out and stomped all over, Madden does an amazing job at putting it back together again. Even though I hated what happened, I LOVED every bit of this amazing story and it proved all over again that I am now, and will always be a #LairLover4Life!

If you're a fan of the Back Up Series, you can't miss this last installment. And if you haven't read the series, what are you waiting for?

Have you ever read a book that makes you scream, NOOOOOOOO! And you just seat there asking yourself and if what you just read was what really happened? The author pull at the reader's heartstrings and shows that The Devil Lair is more than a band, is a family whose members are ready to do whatever they have to to lift each other and see them through any situation.

Madden delivers a story full of love, camaraderie, and the certainty that you should never take those close to you for granted. The story truly made me think at the cruelty that life delivers sometimes, that in some occasions family are not those ones related by blood, but those who stick by you through thick and thin and want the best for you, those who go the extra mile. It also made me see that when you find a soulmate who loves you and accepts you for who you are, the heart finally feels settled and finds peace.

The narrative flows beautifully and if you thought you held these characters closed to your heart, you haven't seen nothing yet. There's plenty of beauty in these relationships throughout the book in the form of humor, tenderness, love, and brotherhood. I'd recommend that you read the other books before you read this one so you can understand these characters stories better. But let me warn you, once you do you'll be a #LairLover for life.

Do you ever read a book or a series and when you come to the end, you are so sad because you feel that now you are "moving" out of the neighborhood? Sure you can call or text but it's not quite the same. I was introduced to the writing of A.M. Madden through the Back Up Series and her band The Devil's Lair. When I completed book 4 it was as if the concert was over, sure I could listen to the music again but nothing is like the excitement of being there in the stadium, live and in person. A. M. Madden has afforded us a rare opportunity that you will not want to miss, a chance to revisit the characters of Devils Lair and see where their lives have taken them. I must warn you that the lives of these rock stars are not all glamour and glory and you will need tissues by your side. There are most definitely moments that you will want to cherish, moments that reaffirm your belief in love and forgiveness. Be sure to keep your eyes out for characters from some of her other beloved stories as well but most of all enjoy/savor this taste of the past, the moment your world and heart was opened up to The Devils Lair - Jack, Leila, Trey, Hunter, Scott and all those involved in the Back-Up Series. Thank you so much A.M. Madden for my little trip back into the Studios, the Clubs and the Stadiums once again. #LairLoverArmy

I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.

In this book the gang is back. We are able to see where everyone is. Who is till together who isn't. Do they have kids are they still playing it footloose and fancy free. It is great to see all the old gang back. However this book isn't all sunshine and roses. This book the gang has to go through some stuff that will affect everyone in an different way. Will they all come out in the end? The real question is will they all be the same or will some be changed forever?

First off let me say wow. This is another amazing hit in this series by this author. This book will take you on an emotional journey you never though you would go on with these characters. There is so much I want to tell you about this book. However I don't want to ruin it for any other readers. I will however say this book will have you cheering to read about all the characters you know and wanting to hug others. I will tell you, that this book will have you locking your doors, sending the kids to grandma's, ordering dinner in and not getting a single chore done in the house till you read those two words "The End". I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Where to freaking begin.....

This book is going to tear you up and spit you out...The emotional roller coaster of this series and this book right here just damn!! I hate to see it end. Maybe we'll get a spin-off hint, hint and wink. That would be the cherry on top.
This book was AMAZING!! Tears, laughter, hot AF sex, and that ending WOW!
I'm going to leave this review as is, because I'm going to let the book talk for itself!!
Highly recommend this book and series.

Speechless that's how Sold Out has left me I honestly don't have the words to do this book justice. I fell in love with AM Madden's Back Up Series 5 years ago, have read each book several times and even branded myself with them, so to be able to read Sold Out was an absolute pleasure.

We pick up with the Jack, Leila, Trey, Hunter Scott and our other favourite's a few months on from when we last visited them, life is simply amazing both professionally and personally but we all know that life likes to throw us a curve ball when its running as close to perfect as can be and what a curve ball they have been thrown.

I don't want to give too much away but I will say the emotions this story evokes are both heart breaking to the point you'll want to scream NOOOOOOO and have you reaching for the tissues to the absolute love and joy we come to expect from our Mr and Mrs Jack Lair.

I promise you don't want to miss out on Sold Out its a must read. XXX

I've been stalking, I mean reading AM Madden since book one in the Devils Lair series. I honestly have read the series more times than I can count. These characters are family.
So you'll understand why everytime i recall any part of this book i tear up. It absolutely gutted me and I'm still sitting torn up and broken. These characters have become a part of me. When I'm down or find myself in a rut i can grab this series and dissapear. This book is no different.
Kudos to AM Madden for creating this beautifully broken world with characters that band together to help fix it.

After finishing this, I'm a blubbering mess. I can't even begin to describe the rollercoaster that this story has been. I've gone from screaming at my kindle, to bawling my eyes out, to being stunned stupid, to cursing the author and every emotion in between while anxiously waiting to see where the story was going to lead me.

This deserves more than 5 stars!!!!! I have to say this is by far my favorite book of this series and I have loved all of them. But this one took my emotions and ran amuck with them. I think I cried more throughout this book than I have in a long time. But those tears were met with swoonworthy moments and laughter. Just the feels and tingles...awww. Soooo good!!!!! I'm a lost for words...that is how good this book was!

There are absolutely no words I can say to express the emotions I felt reading this and still feel. Not only have I already loved these characters forever but now even more. This was an emotional roller coaster like no other. I laughed, cried, heart pounding and I want to do it all again. This is a book/series I wish I could read again and experience it like it was the first time.

Wow talk about a book leaving you wanting more

Well AM Madden has ripped my heart out, stomped on it, and shoved it back in with a very mild soothing balm to try and make it better. The only thing that will make up for the tears of Pain and tears of joy I shed whilst reading this amazing Devils Lair instalment, is another book. Loved it, read it cover to cover without stopping and REALLY want another book now.

*I received an advanced copy of this book to review, which follows.

If you have been waiting patiently for this book to arrive, believe me, it's worth the wait. If you haven't read any of this unforgettable rocker romance series, Back Up, get busy because this is not a standalone and the series should be read in order before you dive into this one.

I know it's going to be difficult to review this book, trying not to give too much away, so some vagueness will keep you guessing. No matter what, fans of this series are going to eat this up and love it. I certainly did!

So, after the beautiful ending from Devil's Lair, we find Jack and Leila happily contemplating their 'lucky in love' lives, their sweet family and their success. Leila is pregnant again, Jack will have to worry, of course and this time, they will welcome a fourth child to their brood! They still can't keep their hands off each other..so sweet, how I love this sexy couple! Of course, the highlight for me is always JACK!!!!

Hunter and Mandi are now proud parents themselves as are Scott and Patti. Even Trey has his own soulmate, such a hard won happiness after all they had to endure at the hands of his demented, sadistic father. Everyone is content and happily enjoying their lives to the fullest. Their hard work has paid off, success and fame are theirs as Devil's Lair is planning the rehearsal schedule for the next tour and another surprise as well!

Then, as teased in the preview of this book, the unthinkable will happen when least expected and rip someone's world apart in an instant. It left me sobbing to myself as I read along, the angst was so real, so raw, I felt the pain and despair like I was there. All I will say is that A.M. Madden can lift you up and then knock you flat, but you will not care as you feel all the many emotions in her words. She is indeed a master storyteller.

This awful tragedy has a ripple effect that can't help but weave it's way throughout this story and then, when the another domino falls, it takes everyone pulling together for the rest of the band to function and find guilt free glimmers of normalcy and happiness as life goes on. This band family is resilient, even in sorrow and you will see that their crazy banter, humor and comradery are still very much a part of the story.

Although I was feeling better as the book was winding to a close, it left me wondering...is this really the end? In sad or happier times, to me, this book was balanced, perfectly told and I loved every minute of it. I couldn't wait to read it and started it before going to sleep, then woke up super early the next morning because my mind couldn't stop wondering about what was going to happen next. It captured me completely, didn't let me go and I know I won't forget this book or series, probably ever. It will remain as a reread on my favorites list always. I'm hoping someday that a follow up book down the road is coming for the Lair Lovers out there like me! Who knows, might be something else coming to keep us happy in the meantime!

Oh man. I knew Sold Out was going to pack a bit of an emotional punch but I wasn't expecting to be torn apart like that. Fear not, it wasn't all reaching for the tissues. There were plenty of laughs and loads of steam (this is Devil's Lair we're talking about here).

I was looking forward to seeing the band again. Last I had see them, things were moving forward for everyone both personally and professionally. The band was thriving. Making the music they wanted and making memories with their families. Jack and Leila were they're happy in love selves. Heck, even Trey had found his happiness. But as promised in the blurb, the unthinkable happened.

Holy heartbreaking. It sent everyone into a tailspin or emotions. I felt everything from pain to fear to helplessness to anger to hope right along with the crew. My heart was in shambles and I was reading as fast as my eyeballs would let me to see what would happen next.

I can't say too much because you need to savor and get lost in this world yourself. I have been with these characters from the first book and have rejoiced and celebrated with their success and happiness. Sold Out is the end of an era and A.M. Madden went all out. I'm still not over it, and its going to take me quite some time to recover. Fingers crossed to see them again somewhere down the line (please).

It's been over a week and still can't put into words all the feelings I have about this amazing story. If you follow my reviews, you know that I love the Back-up books and A.M. Madden as and author. And this story is not an exception. But, oh, God! It was just so difficult to finish it. The heartbreak was just devastating. There were a few times that I just had to stop reading because I simply couldn't see through my tears.

Unfortunately, I cant really say what the book was all about simply because that would be a major spoiler and I don't want to do that. What I can say is that it is about the members of Devil's Lair and their friends and families. And yes, there are some major romantic and sweet hearts and flower moments but there are also those that will tear your heart to pieces and I am honestly not sure you will be healed by the end of the book. My heart is still in pieces. I just hope there is something better on the horizon for this band of brothers and their loved ones because my heart is bleeding for a very dear to my heart member.

So yes, if you were expecting a fun and relaxing book filled with the HEA for everyone, that's definitely not it. There is still so much love and devotion within the pages but there is also such heartbreak. So be prepared. Get a box of tissues near you and dive in. Because, trust me, you want to read this book. Even if your heart will be shattered after that.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

First let me tell you that A.M. Madden is now a one click author for me. I discovered her AFTER The Back-Up Series came out and have only read two of the other stories in the series. (Yes, I own them all and now the boxed set, they just kept going down my TBR list - I will be reading them in order this weekend). Having said that, I think this can be read as a stand-alone, but if you've read only a couple (like me) it will enhance the reading experience as this is about the band and characters from previous stories.

Ok, enough about that...

Rocker series are right in my wheelhouse - Romance, hot guys, hot gals, angst, sexy times, maybe a little bit of emotion. HOLY MOLY - SOLD OUT blew all of my expectations away. So so good. At one point, I put the book in the freezer because I didn't want it to end (that's a Friends reference in case you didn't get it).

This is rock star, real life, relationships, romance, and so so much more. I honestly didn't want it to end and am so glad that I am going back to read the whole series from the very beginning!!!

An emotional roller coaster that will have your heart ready to explode!
Sold Out is book five in the Back-Up series and is one that will pull on your heartstrings and leave you free falling from the top of that roller coaster.
The Devils Lair and their extended family are back and I will say it is a bittersweet reunion, but it’s one you are going to devour. Along with the happiness and joy that Jack and Leila are about to embark upon comes a tradegdy that will rip the very essence of Devils Lair apart and one that I would never have foreseen going into this story. Although this book broke my heart, it also put it back together at the end. It has been written in a way that lets you see that no matter what happens, life does go on and that you can move forward with the help of family, friends and loved ones. This is a story of love and forgiveness, finding strength and most of all family.
A.M. Madden has gone all out with this book and it is writng perfection. #LairLoverArmy

I received a free copy of this book from the author.

This is supposed to be the final book in the Back-Up Series.  I just don't know how A.M. Madden is going to leave us hanging like this.

If you've not read the other 4 books in the series I strongly encourage you to do so.  This is one of my favorite rock star romance series.  Y'all will just fall for Jack Lair.  I know because you're reading the thoughts of a #LairLover.

So in SOLD OUT we're faced with the whole band with mega life changes in the last year, give or take, in their lives.  Major changes are still coming at them.  You'll be happy one moment and ticked off the next.

It's great to see the guys and Leila together again, recording, performing, living their dream.  If you have read the series you'll be in for a surprise or two in this novel.  You'll be waiting to see what Ms. Madden does next with these guys, as we'll always be #LairLovers!

HOLY SMOKES!! You'll want to brace yourself and have a box of tissues ready while reading this one! SO emotional!! Felt like I was on a roller coaster! A.M. Madden has written, in my eyes, the perfect story!!

We get to go back into the life of Devil's Lair group. Jack and Leila deal with the ups and downs of being in a rock band as well as having kids. In this story, they are thrown a giant curve ball, that neither is quite sure they'll make it through.

So many emotions while reading this story! I had to keep stopping and rereading because it was just so heartfelt! I read the ending 3 times (loved it that much) and I cannot wait for the next installment!! After finishing this one, I decided I'm going back and reading the whole series again! LOVE me some Jack Lair, as well as Trey and his "jewelry"!! I wish I could give it more than 5 stars!!

OMFG!!!! What a book!!! Like I'm not sure I'm going to have the words to review this book properly.  One I am now in a book hangover like no other!!! I went to bed thinking about this book and started crying again!!! I have very rarely ever done that!!! And yes I ugly cried in this book like crazy, I don't like when my feelings leak out my eyes. But dang what an amazing book!!! A.M. really outdone herself with this one let me tell you.  This is not a stand alone just saying you need to read the entire series to really understand everything that is going on. But if you haven't read it I would highly recommend it.  It's one of my favorites.  And I loved seeing everyone again. Gahhhh I can't stop thinking about this book!!! Can I give it like a million stars. Even though it broke my heart into a million tiny pieces Ann!!! Buy this series I highly highly recommend it!!!!

I was lucky enough to read an advanced copy of A. M. Madden’s Sold Out and I truly mean lucky. I will admit to being a huge fan of Ms. Madden having read every one of her books. She is a wordsmith, in my opinion the highest compliment you can give an author.
Sold Out takes us back to our Lair family - a joyous, heart rendering return. Expect to feel the gamut of emotions in this book. I will say that just when it gets to the box of tissue point, she throws in a hot, sexy and loving scene that makes you bothered in a good (great) way.
I am sad to think that this is the final chapter of the Devil’s Lair books, but knowing A.M., I am sure we will kept up to date with our family in future books as back characters. She is so good at that, she knows her audience and knows what makes us happy.
Yeah, a great read!

I'm not sure I can ever get enough of Jack, Leila and all things Lair. I love going back and getting new glimpses into their lives. It's wonderful to be reminded of Jack's undying love for Leila and his constant protectiveness of her. Really makes you fall in love with these characters all over again. Seeing them as parents is amazing.

The circumstances regarding Trey are the only things I absolutely didn't care for in the book. I will not say what happens because I refuse to spoil anything for the readers. I will just say that I was extremely disappointed in him and how he dealt with some things. I thought one specific aspect could have been left out completely and then my feelings would have been 100% different.

I really hope at some point we get another book from this fantastic group of characters.

It's hard to find the words to describe this emotional roller coaster! By far one of A.M.Madden's best writing. I found it hard to put down when I had to adult in the middle and couldn't wait to pick it up again. The whole Devils Lair is hands down one of the best series I've read. The writing is superb, the characters, you want to be friends with and a story that reads like a movie.
The plot in "Sold Out" was not what I expected at all and when it struck I was awed. Ms Madden really knows how to wring out the emotion from her readers.
Jack, Leila, and the gang will hang out in your mind for days and more. While this book can be read as a stand-alone I highly recommend reading the whole series to get the most impact from the stories. To say I loved it would be an understatement.
