Smorgasburg Extends Manhattan Footprint With Seasonal Restaurant on High Line

180 Tenth is the outdoor restaurant at The High Line Hotel

The High Line Hotel will swing open its outdoor restaurant for the season tomorrow, this time with Smorgasburg operators Eric Demby and Jonathan Butler running a restaurant dubbed 180 Tenth, Flo Flab reports. The garden restaurant is taking over previous summertime tenant Alta Linea, which closed for the season on October 9.

At 180, Demby and Butler — who also run Brooklyn Flea and food hall Berg'n — are bringing along Aaron Taber, a vet of the now-dead, David Chang-invested delivery service Maple. Taber is focusing on smaller items like oysters, housemade pickles, charcuterie plates, and arancini, according to the Times. An obligatory burger will also be on the menu. Like Alta Linea, there will be frozen negronis on the drinks menu and plenty other summery cocktails like a Tom Collins.

The restaurant is opening just three months before the Smorgasburg duo is set to debut a year-round Manhattan Smorgasburg at 76 Varick Street. Demby told Eater he considered the Varick project to be the group’s Manhattan debut, adding “this will be some real placemaking.”

180 Tenth, which will stay open for the summer season, will launch with dinner tomorrow, with plans for weekend brunch to start June 10, and lunch on June 19. Stay tuned for more news on 180 Tenth as it becomes available, and let us know what you think if you stop by.
