Massey 5700 Series tractors shift the workload

by

A new transmission will help Massey Ferguson mid-range 5700 Global Series tractors be more efficient workhorses for livestock and and hay operations, says AGCO, the tractor’s manufacturer.

Two new models, the MF5710D (100 HP) and MF5711D (110 HP), will feature the convenience of the Dyna-4 transmission, making the tractors a strong fit for loader work, hay production, and general on-the-farm chores, says AGCO marketing product specialist Zach Cagle.

At the National Farm Machinery Show (NFMS) earlier this month, Cagle gave RealAgriculture a tour of the new MF5711D and explained how the addition of the Dyna-4 transmission makes loader work faster and more efficient.  He says the transmission shifts smoothly through 16 forward and 16 reverse speeds, allowing the operator to shift through all gears and ranges on the roll without clutching. This speeds up time-consuming tasks like loading and stacking hay or cleaning barns and livestock lots. (Story continues after the video.)

The Auto-Drive feature adds more convenience during transport or field work by speed-matching the transmission to the job, while the ‘brake to neutral’ feature lets the operator stop the tractor by merely pressing the brake pedal.

Cagle says the two new models come standard with the largest, quietest cab in their class and are loader-ready from the factory with an integrated joystick to operate any of the four available Massey Ferguson loaders.

High-flow hydraulics have been added to make the loader more responsive and efficient. The hydraulic system has two high-pressure pumps, one with a standard flow rate of 11 gallons per minute (gpm) to the rear three-point linkage and the other with 15 gpm to the remote valves and the loader. An in-cab switch combines the flow from both pumps to quicken response times for loader and auxiliary hydraulics.

Standard features include an easy-to-read digital system information screen, advanced cab suspension for a smooth ride, three hydraulic remotes and radial tires for better traction and ride.
