    Version 1: Cereal Box

    SUPPLIES

    Empty cereal box

    Foil

    Pin

    Box Cutter

    Tape

    Ruler

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Tape shut the opening of the cereal box.

    2. Cut two 2 inch x 2 inch squares out of the top of the cereal box, one on each end of the box.

    3. Cover one of the squares with foil, tape down the edges.

    4. Poke a pinhole into the foil.

    5. Leave the other square alone, it will serve as your view hole.

    6. To watch the eclipse, sit down with your back facing the eclipse. Do not turn your head toward the eclipse as this can cause eye damage. Place one eye over the view hole and aim the pinhole in the direction of the eclipse. It may take a couple of tries to properly aim the box, but once you have the hang of it, you will see a projection of the solar eclipse inside of the cereal box.
