A cyber-stalker posted a pregnant woman's phone number on a hook-up site so she was pestered with demands for sex - while giving birth.

Sick Robert Jeffery, 36, listed mum-to-be Sarah Sutton's details on a Craigslist adult classified page under the headline "Bubbly Cornish Maid”, a court heard.

As Miss Sutton, 34, went into labour she received numerous phone calls from lusty men and even an elderly couple wanting to have sex with her.

Jeffery developed an obsession with Miss Sutton despite only having spoken with her briefly three years earlier, a court heard.

After finding a video of her and her partner on YouTube he launched a six-month cyber-stalking campaign that put her through "psychological hell".

Truro crown court heard he stole a picture of Miss Sutton from Facebook and used it to create a string of bogus profiles for her on social networking sites.

Miss Sutton then started receiving messages and updates but had no idea who was behind them.

Jeffery stepped up his hate campaign last August, messaging heavily pregnant Miss Sutton to say he hoped her baby would be stillborn.

He also created fake adult listings for her on the Craigslist website.

As a result Miss Sutton was pestered for sex as she went into labour last August.

Jeffery, of Redruth, Cornwall, admitted one count of stalking involving fear of violence between June 13 and December 3 last year at an earlier hearing.

Jailing him for three years, Judge Christopher Harvey Clark QC said: "This was no prank. You showed vindictive cruelty to Sarah Sutton and that cruelty had devastating consequences for her. For six months she went through psychological hell."

After the hearing Ms Sutton urged other victims of cyberstalking to come forward, insisting police will take it seriously.

She said: "People I have spoken to did not know they could go to the police about that. We do not have to put up with this.

"I am just pleased this is the end and I can move on."
