Troye Sivan Reimagines ‘Wild’ as Alessia Cara Duet

“Wild,” which returns to the list for the first time since the week of Jan. 23, blasts to the summit after the release of a reworked version with Alessia Cara on June 23. The song’s return gives Sivan his first leader on the chart, surpassing the No. 3 showings of “Fools” in October 2015 and “Youth” in March.

Fan excitement surrounding the collaboration boosts both artists’ social activity. Sivan’s Twitter mentions rocket 270 percent to 492,000 in the week ending June 26, according to Next Big Sound, and the spike helps the Australian native jump 16-8 on the Social 50 chart.

Cara, meanwhile, makes her debut on the Social 50 at No. 43, spurred by a whopping 2,013 percent surge in Twitter mentions, clocking 224,000 of them for the week.

Kanye West also scores a top five re-entry, as “Famous” rebounds to No. 3 after its music video premiered June 24 on Tidal. The clip sparked interest and plenty of controversy as it depicts several celebrity look-alikes in bed with West and his wife, Kim Kardashian, including Taylor Swift, Chris Brown, Donald Trump and President George W. Bush.

With its resurgence, “Famous” becomes West’s eighth top-five hit on the Top Tracks chart, including two No. 1s: “Only One” with Paul McCartney in January 2015 and “Waves” earlier this year.

The “Famous” video and resulting online chatter powers the rapper to 100,000 Twitter mentions for the week, a a gain of 41 percent. The lift helps West grab a No. 28 re-entry on the Social 50.

Meanwhile, the chart’s highest debut belongs to Fall Out Boy and Missy Elliott, whose “Ghostbusters (I’m Not Afraid)” starts at No. 12. The track’s official audio premiered on Fall Out Boy’s YouTube channel on June 23 and has raced to 4.48 million global views through June 29.

“Ghostbusters” is a remake of Ray Parker Jr.’s original theme song to the film of the same name, which hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1984. The new Fall Out Boy and Elliott version supports the classic film’s reboot, due out July 15 in North American theaters.
