Parents and students: Are you worried about paying for college?

College has always been expensive, but for some prospective students, it's going to get even more so.

As PennLive's Charlie Thompson reported yesterday, tuition at Pennsylvania's 14 state-owned universities will go up three percent.

That means the average cost for an on-campus student – including housing and food – would be about $18,500 per year.

Now, that's still a lot less expensive than many private universities and colleges, but for many families, this latest announcement is just one more example of how the cost of getting a college degree is getting pricier and pricier.
