New Jersey Table Tennis Club of Westfield wins three 'golds' at U.S. open

The New Jersey Table Tennis Club (NJTTC.org), located in Westfield, won three gold medals at the recently concluded U.S. Open in Grand Rapids, Mich., over the July 4th weekend.

The U.S. Open attracts some of the top table tennis talent from around the world, as well as from North America, so the competition is fierce and winning any medal, let alone a gold, is a considerable achievement.

Thanks to the leadership of Coach Jack Gao and his team, the club won first place in the boys junior team, boys junior singles and men's under 21 singles competitions.

The team members are Lang XinYang (junior singles winner), Liao Cheng Ting (under 21 singles winner), Jonathan Chu and Stephen Chu. Cardiologist Tony Chu and his wife Xiao Hui are the proud parents of Jonathan and Stephen.

The NJTTC is located on North Ave. across from the trains Station in the heart of beautiful downtown Westfield. It is open 7 days a week and is one of the oldest and largest table tennis clubs in the U.S. It has held the NJ Table Tennis championships dating back to the 1930's. With its brand new state-of-the-art flooring, Olympic caliber tables and world class coaching, the NJTTC invites anyone from ping-pong beginners all the way to experts to pay it a visit and watch, take a lesson, or participate in the exciting sport of Table Tennis.
