Shots were fired when police attempted to make an arrest at a hotel in Mount Laurel, New Jersey Monday afternoon.

MOUNT LAUREL, N.J. (WPVI) -- Shots were fired when police attempted to make an arrest at a hotel in Mount Laurel, New Jersey Monday afternoon.

It happened around 2:00 p.m. in the parking lot of the Aloft Hotel at Route 73 and Fellowship Road.

State Police and Mount Laurel Police were attempting to make an arrest of a man when either a police officer or a Trooper discharged their weapon.

The suspect suffered a graze wound and was transported to Cooper University Hospital for treatment.

It is unknown why the man was wanted by police and what sparked the shooting.

The incident is under investigation.
