What’s Hot: Hawaiian hotel to show off renovated rooms

Boasting a focus on the area’s Polynesian cultural influences, the Four Seasons Resort Lanai at Manele Bay will complete another phase of its renovation in the fall, this one to the guestrooms, suites and lower lobby.

Designer Todd Avery-Lenahan of TAL Studio wanted to go beyond the stereotypical Hawaiian resort look for the room and lobby renovation. So, he turned to the Polynesian influences that saturate Hawaiian culture for inspiration. For the rooms, that meant a material palette that is based on teak and zebra wood. Nepalese wallpaper and hand-woven wool rugs add a global, artisanal flavor to the rooms.

Polynesian-inspired materials and textures spice up the guestrooms.

For the lower lobby, Lenahan used artwork to flesh out the design narrative. Pieces from Polynesia and Micronesia are displayed along with local artwork. The multimedia collection includes bags and vintage leis.

The hotel has also debuted a new in-room beverage offering. A retail store will open off the reception lobby. A new airport lounge and dining venues have already been completed.
