1 dead, 1 injured after gunfire erupts in Frankford

FRANKFORD (WPVI) -- One person is dead and another is hospitalized after a shooting in Frankford Thursday night.

It happened around 10:00 p.m. on the 5200 block of Akron Street.

Both victims are in their 20s.

Police say one man was shot in the shoulder and the chest. He was taken to Temple University Hospital where he later died.

The other was shot in the thigh. He was listed in stable condition.

Some of the bullets also struck several vehicles as well.

No word yet on any suspects or a possible motive.
