Man shot and killed in Newark, Delaware

NEWARK, Del. (WPVI) -- Police are investigating the shooting death of a man in Newark, Delaware Monday night.

The incident happened just after 10:00 p.m. on the unit block of Heron Court at the Sparrow Run Townhouses.

Officers responded to the community after a report of shots fired in the area.

They arrived to find a man suffering from a gunshot wound lying on the ground.

He was taken to Christiana Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators are conducting interviews to determine a motive in the shooting.

The victim's name has not been released.
