On Tuesday, a tragedy we are all still trying to come to terms with affected the lives of the ASA Community. As you may know, a shooting occurred at the Stadium Hotel in Miami Gardens which involved ASA College student athletes that participated in our football program. One person is deceased and two people are being treated for injuries sustained during the incident.

We stand with the Cuban people as they practice their inalienable rights against the will of an oppressive government. As we know, the Freedom of Speech and the Freedom to Peacefully Assemble, rights protected by the First Amendment of our Constitution, are integral to the mission of our college academic community. One cannot learn and grow without self-expression and the opportunity to listen to those who can teach from their own diverse experiences.
