What Jeff Weiner Can Teach Us about Posting on LinkedIn

Jeff Weiner is 'CEO at LinkedIn' so he might know a thing or two about posting on LinkedIn…

Jeff has so far posted 28 articles and guess what is the main lesson for us?

Post on a Monday!

75% of Jeff’s articles have been published on the first day of the working week.

Only 3 articles have been published later than Wednesday.

I imagine (and sincerely hope) that the CEO of LinkedIn receives some ‘advice’ from the editorial and data teams on when the best time to publish is.

I assume that Monday is when most professionals visit LinkedIn after the weekend break so a fresh article gets the most traction as well as benefitting from 5 working days of readership.

An article posted on Friday does not have as good of a chance of making an impression before what I guess are two quiet days for a social network such as LinkedIn.

And Jeff Weiner’s posting approach extends to other Influencers.

My analysis of 73 articles published by other Influencers such as Dave Kerpen, Guy Kawasaki and J.T O’Donnell shows that 71% of articles were published on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.

I am guessing that the Editorial Team at LinkedIn has again guided the publishing activity of the Influencers to maximise their success.

And that is why I am posting this article on a Monday…. :-)
