FBI: Shots fired during Pottstown bank robbery

Investigators are looking for a brazen stickup man who fired off multiple gunshots during the attempted robbery Saturday morning of a Wells Fargo bank branch in Pottstown.

The suspect walked into the bank at 1470 E. High St. around 9:15 a.m., according to the FBI. He allegedly brandished a .38-caliber semiautomatic handgun, verbally threatened employees and demanded money.

The man fired several rounds into the bank's ceiling and at the bulletproof divider protecting the tellers before fleeing on foot, empty-handed, officials said. No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as a 6-foot-tall black male between the ages of 20 and 30 and weighing about 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored baseball cap with the letter "P" on the front, dark-colored clothing and gloves.
