DURHAM REGION 40TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

Join in the fun on June 26 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Regional Headquarters! Durham's open house event--in celebration of the Region's 40th Anniversary--will feature live musical performances; children's activities, including a face painter and magician; facility tours and displays; and special guests, including local celebrities and the new Chief of Police. Also enjoy a free barbecue, cake, and farm-fresh local apples and cider!

BOWMANVILLE ROCKIN' ROTARY RIBFEST     

Get your oink on! From June 6 to 8, the Bowmanville Rockin' Rotary Ribfest will be serving up succulent mouth-watering ribs. The event will also feature a delicious assortment of food, live music, vendors, midway rides, community groups, children's activities and more. The event takes place at the Garnet Rickard Complex in Bowmanville.

Fiesta parade

FIESTA WEEK  

It's the 40th anniversary of Fiesta Week! Presented by the Oshawa Folk Arts Council, come out from June 15 to 21 to experience a taste of multiculturalism without leaving the city. This year's Fiesta Week event features 17 pavilions throughout Oshawa, offering a taste of the world with live entertainment. Kick off this event at the parade in downtown Oshawa on June 15.

DURHAM CARIBBEAN FESTIVAL   

On June 29, the Durham Caribbean Festival will feature live music, a variety of delicious food, insightful art displays and theatrical performances that showcase Caribbean-inspired life. Come out to Greenwood Conservation area between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m. to taste the Caribbean cuisine, and groove to the beat.

BIKE MONTH    

June is Bike Month in Durham Region. At this time of year, cyclists can enjoy leisurely rides along our trail system, a picturesque pedalling adventure along the Waterfront Trail, mountain biking on more rugged terrain, or long-distance tours on rural routes. On June 14 and 15, the City of Oshawa presents the 10th annual Peony Festival. Located in the heart of the beautiful Oshawa Valley Botanical Gardens, this free event displays 300 types of peonies in the gardens, and hundreds more in children's arena. Artisans, live music, food, gardening seminars, community displays and more are all part of this remarkable flower festival.

Welcome the warmer season, and celebrate the summer solstice at Palmer Park in Port Perry on June 21 from 7 to 9 p.m. Port Perry Flowyoga Studio invites you to this third annual, free, outdoor drumming and yoga event to celebrate the summer solstice. Everyone is welcome: young and old, beginner and seasoned yogis.
