Description:

Arts in health is intertwined with wellbeing. Learn about the science and theories of art and health and evaluation and research tools to measure impact. See project examples and hear ideas applicable for your programming and project efforts. Through this professional development opportunity, health educators, communicators, professors, students, teachers, artists and advocates will be part of this growing movement to intersect arts, health and wellbeing.

Conference Objectives:

  • Build on the theory, roots, and philosophies of health education with new insights that address the science and intersection of arts and health to promote wellbeing.
  • Develop new knowledge and skills related to active community needs assessment and participatory research methodology to identify, represent, and enhance community health and wellbeing.
  • Expand professional health and art networks – including people, organizations, and resources to enhance and energize your health education planning, intervention, research and evaluation.

Audience:

Those who are interested in improving the health of Minnesota communities are welcome to attend.

We anticipate about 100 health education specialists, health communicators, K-12 health teachers, behavioral scientists, allied health professionals, university faculty and students to attend.
