Tented weddings have the potential to be almost anything you would like them to be; the only limitations are your imagination, and your budget. A tented event provides a blank canvas, which allows for complete venue customization from the inside out. There are many ways to accessorize your tented event to suit your sense of style, and “wow” your guests in the process.
In this two-part series, we’ve come up with some of our favorite luxurious upgrades for tented weddings. In part one, we’ll talk about some of the more common and standard upgrades. Next month, in part two, we’ll dig into some more elaborate enhancements.
Tables
Rental tables are available in a variety of shapes and sizes; they typically have plywood tops and folding legs, and are usually covered with linens. In recent years, rental companies have begun to offer rustic Farm Tables, which are often 4’x8’, or 66” diameter round, and may be used with runners or placemats, rather than a full tablecloth. The Farm Tables are often used for family tables, and/or buffet tables, with most of the guests seated at standard rental tables with linens.
Chairs
The traditional white folding chair with a padded seat (Garden chair) is still a very popular choice for many wedding ceremonies & receptions; however, today, there are many more rental chair options which can dramatically change the look and feel of your event. Chiavari ballroom chairs are a popular upgrade, as are Farm Chairs, as well as a number of other styles to help you achieve the look you desire.
Linens
Table linens are available in a wide variety of fabrics, colors, prints, and patterns, from basic solid-color poly blend tablecloths to very high-end overlays. Linens soften the look of the tables and are typically one of the primary design elements for any event. Tablecloths, napkins, runners, etc. are not only practical, but add texture and warmth to any tent interior. Choose high end linens, like lace or satin to add a dramatic effect and accentuate your wedding décor.
Tent Sidewalls & Entrance Canopies
Depending on the time of the year, and the weather, you may need to add sidewalls to your tent. Tent walls are typically solid white, or clear. Consider using French Window walls, or Cathedral Window walls to dramatically change the look of any tent.
Adding a walkway canopy to designate the entrance to your tented event is a nice upgrade, and a good way to provide a little extra protection for your guests in case of inclement weather.
