Parents of pupils at an exclusive private school in London have paid for bodyguards to be posted outside after muggers on mopeds stabbed a man who then collapsed on the steps.
The smartly dressed victim staggered into the doorway of the £20,000-a-year Knightsbridge School in Chelsea at about 4pm on Monday.
Staff stemmed the bleeding before he was taken to hospital with injuries that were not thought to be life threatening.
Scotland Yard said that the attack was one of a spate of four muggings in the area within a short time.
It is understood that the two thieves were riding a moped and demanded the victim’s watch before stabbing him.
The independent preparatory day school has 432 pupils and is located a few hundred
