A man was shot by police Friday afternoon in the Hunting Park section of the city, officials said.
The armed man was shot once by officers on the 4400 block of North 8th Street.
He was transported to a nearby hospital, according to police.
No word on why police shot at the man, but the suspect's weapon was recovered at the scene.
An investigation is underway.
