According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the Chicago metro area is teeming with singles: An estimated 62 percent of men and 66 percent of women here are unmarried, compared with just 54 percent and 60 percent, respectively, a decade ago. But as any user of Match.com, eHarmony, or Tinder can tell you, separating the wheat from all that chaff can be a time-consuming job.

That’s where this story comes in. Chicago pored through hundreds of online submissions and quizzed dozens of connected Chicagoans to find 10 men and 10 women in their 20s through 50s who are well rounded, accomplished in their chosen fields, easy on the eyes—and, of course, single. (Though this magazine has included divorcées, widowers, and parents in past lists, this year’s crop just happens to be never-married and child-free.)

Check them out on these pages—and meet them in person on June 20 at the 14th annual Summer Lovin’ event, which is hosted by Chicago and the Auxiliary Board of Northwestern Memorial Hospital and raises money for bone marrow transplant research.
