The couple were arrested without incident Thursday morning and booked into county jail facilities.

According to the San Diego Police Department:

The San Diego Police Department is fully cooperating with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department and is in complete support of their investigation. When notified of the arrests, Chief Zimmerman immediately placed both officers on leave and revoked their police powers. Officer Bryce Charpentier is a 6 year veteran and works out of Mid-City Division. Officer Jennifer Charpentier is an 18 year veteran and works out of Western Division.

Investigators identified the couple as suspects within the past week, according to sheriff's officials, who declined to immediately release further details about the case.
