Jeremy Ferguson, Tawnya Ferguson, Emma Ferguson, DeKalb County tornado victims

DEKALB COUNTY, Alabama -- Jeremy Ferguson, 34; his wife, Tawnya Ferguson, 32; and daughter, Emma Ferguson, 6; died when the April 27, 2011, storm struck their home located roughly halfway between Henagar and Sylvania.

The Fergusons' son Bryce, 10, sustained serious injuries and was in the intensive care unit at Children's Hospital in Birmingham.

Mr. Ferguson worked in construction and enjoyed hunting and Alabama football. But he was passionate about being a dad and his brother said that was where he derived the most enjoyment. Emma loved "girl stuff," playing dress-up, wearing pink and cheerleading with friends.

Ferguson's brother said the house was completely destroyed. The family was found 150 yards from where the house once stood.
