Delta-Simons has been one of the sponsors of the Castle 2 Coast 2 Castle (C2C2C) charity bike ride since its inception in 2011.

This year part of the new team, Lucion Services is pedalling together with Delta-Simons in showing their commitment to the local community and promoting healthy living through sporting activities. We have a team of 10 cyclists, including Ross Boulton and Jamie McGivern from Lucion Services taking part in the ever popular event on Thursday 1st July 2021.

The aim of our involvement is to demonstrate our collaborative approach to Environment Social Governance (ESG) and to continue to support a range of community projects and sports activities to promote healthy living and an enjoyment of the outdoors.

C2C2C is a charity cycle ride across Lincolnshire with an aim to get more people cycling, raise money for charity and have some fun. The ride is held on a weekday to get local business people out of the office or home working environment and onto their bikes.

This year there are two routes :- 100km or 200km. Our team of cyclists will be riding the 100km route with approximately - 600 riders who transferred their entry from 2020 to 2021 due to COVID lockdown.

The organisers of the event have made changes to ensure COVID19 guidelines are followed and adhered to. As part of the celebrations for the C2C2C’s 10th birthday, 10 local charities have been selected to support, which are listed below:

Paul Bennet Delta Simons’ GeOps Unit Director said about his participation in the bike ride:

“It's great to take part again in this ever-popular charity event which raises money for a number of local charities. It is a great opportunity to engage with people from the local business community and also have quality time to catch up with colleagues for the day riding across the fantastic Lincolnshire Wolds to the coast.”

Lucion’s Chief Technical Officer, Ross Boulton added:

"Not only is this event a great challenge, more importantly, it's provided an opportunity for Lucion to support Delta Simons in their long standing sponsorship of C2C2C. The event raises money for numerous charities and is supported by many other organisations that we work with.      Being part of the Delta Simons cycling team this year has provided a unique way to get to know some of our new colleagues, and this will hopefully be the first of many events Lucion and Delta Simons collaborate on."
