Honoring Armed Forces Day; Vets Volunteer

There will be a special service in honor of Armed Forces Day at Arlington National Cemetery.

Members of the armed forces will hold a wreath laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The service begins at 10 a.m. Saturday.

President Harry Truman led the effort to establish Armed Forces Day to thank our military members for their service to our country.

They've already served our nation, but about 100 veterans will give of their time to help folks here in D.C.

"Mission Continues" program allows former service members to transition to civilian life through leadership and community service. This weekend, the vets will take part in a training conference.

All the veterans will then volunteer for 6 months at nonprofits around the country.

A wounded warrior in Fairfax, Va., is waking up in a newly renovated home thanks to the “Ellen Degeneres Show.”

Mark Little lost both his legs in Iraq. He and his wife were struggling with the bills until Ellen stepped in.

She and HGTV's “Cousins Undercover” gave the couple a big surprise on national television.
