Now sources say Prince Charles began feeling sick on his flight to Scotland

State Opening of Parliament

On Friday, Buckingham Palace announced that Trooping the Colour would not take place, at least not in its usual form. Trooping is basically the Queen’s fake birthday parade. The parade is real, the birthday is not. Trooping was scheduled this year for June 13th, which feels SO far away, and it also feels like people are just now starting to understand that the next few months are going to be very difficult. What will the world even look like on June 13th? No one knows. Which is why the palace says Trooping “will not go ahead in its traditional form… A number of other options are being considered, in line with relevant guidance.” What’s also interesting (to me) is the fact that the palace has cancelled tons of events in April, May and now June, but no one will say whether the Queen has been tested for the virus. No one will say whether the Queen will actually give some kind of big coronavirus speech either. It’s still strange to me that the Queen has only made ONE public statement thus far, a vague and cold written statement about pulling together.

It’s possible that the Queen doesn’t know what to say in this moment, and it’s possible that Boris Johnson’s government doesn’t want her to speak. But… I feel like both of those scenarios are unlikely? But we’ll see. For now, maybe the Queen is truly concerned about Prince Charles, who is quarantined in Scotland with only a few staffers.

Prince Charles is used to a substantial entourage, but he is being cared for by just two staff members as he recovers from coronavirus at his Scottish retreat. The future king, who is said to be in good spirits, is in “complete isolation” at Birkhall, where he is sleeping and living in a separate room from his wife, Camilla the Duchess of Cornwall, who has tested negative for the virus. Charles tested positive for the virus on Monday after developing mild flu-like symptoms on a private flight from London to Aberdeenshire on Sunday. The 71-year-old royal is still said to be “fine,” and aides said that Charles was at his desk and working on Thursday. However, in keeping with government guidelines, he has been self-isolating and will continue to do so for 14 days.

“There is a personal assistant on hand to assist and someone preparing his food and that is it,” said a source. “The food is taken to the door, the staff member retreats, and the prince takes his meal. The door is then shut and remains shut.” According to official guidance Charles is allowed outside to exercise once a day, and there are substantial gardens at Birkhall where he can enjoy a daily walk.

Charles has been in regular contact with his family, including his sons William and Harry, both of whom he called before the news of his diagnosis was made public. He also remains in touch with the Queen, who is self-isolating with Prince Philip at Windsor Castle. Charles has been well enough to take a number of business calls with the chief executive of the International Rescue Committee and the chief executive of the World Economic Forum. The Prince is also due to hold an online meeting with the Red Cross to discuss how the organization is dealing with the coronavirus and how the royal family can help.

“The Prince might be in isolation, but he is not isolated, he is very busy and very much keeping abreast of what is happening. He is taking calls, having online meetings and working as hard as ever,” said a source.

One of the Prince’s key concerns is the welfare of those who work and live on his estate, the Duchy of Cornwall, which includes islands that are expected to be hard hit this summer as tourists prepare for staycations instead of going away. The Duchy of Cornwall wrote last week to its residential, commercial, and agricultural tenants on the Isles of Scilly to offer financial support as the Isles prepare for an uncertain summer. A spokesman for the prince said, “The Duchy has offered assistance with cash flow, through a deferral of rent …which would be repaid in instalments over a period of up to 24 months with no interest charged on the deferred payments.”

[From Vanity Fair]

A deferral of rent? Come on, Chuck, you can do better than that. I mean, yes, that’s a better offer than what most landlords would do. But it’s still not enough. I wonder if the Duchy of Cornwall estates would ever dare to do a rent strike? Keep your eye on that. As for Charles and the question of when he started feeling sick… convenient how that story keeps changing, huh? Last week, the story was that Charles began having symptoms before he flew to Scotland. Now the story is that he began feeling ill ON THE FLIGHT.

Poor Charles having to be separated from Camilla. He’s probably writing her tampon love letters daily.

    • Ali says:

I wonder about his mistress. I hope she is ok.

      • Giddy says:

What? Do you mean that when he married his former mistress a vacancy was created? After all the agony about Camilla being his true love, does he really have another mistress? Please explain.

      • Bettyrose says:

Charles has a mistress? Dude getting B-12 shots for that energy?

      • Chlo says:

He has a mistress?! I have never heard anything about that.

    • Silas says:

Over the phone, darling. Their #tamponlove is over the phone.

    • Lolo86lf says:

Without meaning to be vulgar, I don’t get the gist of “tampon love letters.” I googled it and still don’t understand it. What is your point Chilly Willy?

      • Scal says:

It’s from a famous interview where his letters to Camilla were read out loud.(This was when he was still married to Diana) In them he said he wanted to be her tampon. Yea.

      • Ali says:

        @LOLO86LF

Prince Charles’ phone was hacked and in one of his conversations he said he wanted a be Camilla’s tampon.
        https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/what-was-the-scandal-known-as-camillagate-that-rocked-the-royal-family.html/

According to New Idea, the royal was involved with an Australian woman named Dale Elizabeth Harper at the same time he was with Camilla. Both of the women, who were then married to other men, were said to be competing for Charles’ affection.

      • Lolo86lf says:

@Scal: Thanks for explaining it. I modified my google search terms and it did pop up. I guess my being gay did not help get the meaning and I certainly don’t share the feeling with Prince Charles lol.

      • No, they weren’t letters. It was an actual late night phone call illegally recorded between Charles and Camilla. At one point, the tabloids even had a number you could call to listen to the actual conversation, and there were also websites with links to the recordings. It was also released in transcription form. I’m sure you can still find it somewhere in the maul of the web. Just google, C/C Tampon-gate. Diana’s ‘squiggly-gate’ tapes of her Illegally tapped phone calls are also still out there.

I also find it interesting how the timeline of Charles’ illness is now being rewritten, Kaiser. It just reminds me though that the royal family could teach a master class in rewriting public perception of their own history. Victoria was mostly above it, but her son was skilled at it and Elizabeth’s father and grandfather were pros. Elizabeth learned at the feet of both her parents as they successfully (with the aid of the government) rewrote the entire abdication story to make it about love and not Edward’s traitorous political beliefs, Elizabeth and Phillip have successfully kept the lid on their turbulent relationship, and Charles has reworked his own personal image and history with both Diana and Camilla. So…. with this reworking …the beat goes on. What I find amazing is now it doesn’t take years to RE-EDUCATE the public to the revised storyline, now with strong media collusion, we can actually watch the royals do it in real time!

      • ChillyWilly says:

        @ Lolo86lf
I’m straight and I don’t get it either! He’s obviously a very strange man.

      • RoyalBlue says:

@JA you are spot on. And the media is an agent of the royal family and actively works with them to change their narrative. Why is there continued existence of the Institution that maintains these scroungers. 🤷🏽‍♀️

      • s says:

poor kanga. charles had her shoved out a window in the mental ward. no doubt it was a kindess.

      • songbirds_thrive says:

@Lolo86lf, others have explained about the ‘tampon’ references. @Ali mentioned a long time mistress who had competed with Camilla for Charles’ affections during the good old, bad old 1970s. Her married name was Dale Elizabeth Tryon, nicknamed ‘Kanga’ due to her Australian origins. There’s a documentary on YouTube that spills all the beans regarding Kanga’s rivalry with Camilla. Since Kanga was Australian born and raised, she didn’t understand the rules of English aristocratic/ nobility/ royalty messing around while married, as well as Camilla. It all came to a bad end for Kanga, and for that matter, for Diana too. Although, I think Diana is at peace, aside from hating what William has turned into.

Here’s a link to the documentary:
        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZzoDzWrrqI

I believe that Charles in the end had more feelings for Camilla, but all told Camilla was a real man-killer manipulator with the DNA to prove her specialty, having been descended from one of King Edward VII’s famous mistresses, Alice Keppel.

@Ali’s original reference to wondering how Charles’ mistress is doing, was surely a sarcastic reference to Camilla! Even though she’s now his wife, Camilla was Charles’ mistress for most of their adult lives.

      • Egla says:

Actually, when his phone was hacked he joked about wanting to be with her or inside her and I think his words were “…with my luck I will end up being a tampon..” and they laughed about that thing. The story then went sideways and was interpreted as he wanted to be a tampon.

      • Tessa says:

Charles as the conversation went on wanted to be a box of tampons. And talked about flushing them. Gross.

    • manda says:

hahahahhaha!! that tampon comment is priceless. ewww how could he ever have thought that was sexy?

      • rawiya says:

He didn’t. He said that he wanted to be in her pants all the time. Then Camilla asks if he’s going to turn into underwear. He says yes, or if he was unlucky a tampon.

    • bluemoonhorse says:

JMO but I think Camilla and Charles are now just friends with benefits – living separate lives.

      • songbirds_thrive says:

Well, they are both older and the flame might not burn as bright. But OTOH, I don’t think we can know for sure. Camilla certainly has worked very hard at pleasing Charles and she knows him through and through. Charles seemed so very elated when they married, and IMO they have been happy together in their older age doting years. I do not believe Charles is straying with anyone else these days. I doubt Camilla would allow it. She’s the stronger personality in their relationship.

Plus, when they showed the grainy photos of Camilla and Charles doing their bit of clapping for carers in separate rooms at Birkhall, it seemed to me that Camilla had a sad haggard look on her face, especially around her eyes. She must be missing Charles’ physical presence, and she’s surely worried about his health and well-being.

      • bluemoonhorse says:

@songbirds – at his age, unless he’s taking Viagra there isn’t a lot happening between the sheets. Again JMO but they seem to lead separate lives which is validated by the fact (we are told) that she tested negative.

She is starting to realize what the relentless price is of being Queen Consort. And again, JMO but I think she knows the real news of QE2’s health (her footman was just diagnosed with C) and what Charles real condition is.

Like I posted a week ago – this virus doesn’t care if you are rich. If you have a suppressed immune system, are elderly, are male, good luck. You’re going to need it, Chuckie!

      • Tessa says:

Charles worked for 8 years to “rehabilitate” Camilla using a PR person Mark Bolland. His grandmother did not want them to get married in her lifetime. And then there was the Burrell Trial which had some revelations that caused some embarrassment then The Queen halted the trial. He was happy because all the $$ spent paid off. I think he was bound and determined to try to whitewash the affair. But not everybody bought into his spin.

    • Meg says:

      Ugh, right?

    • Tessa says:

She kept her own place Raymill. I don’t think they are under the same roof all the time. She sees her family from her first marriage at Raymill.

      • Virginia says:

I remember when Diana said in an interview “Charles will never be king” l don’t think she meant this!

  2. Ali says:

This is the tip of the iceberg in terms of coronavirus cases in the UK.

Funny that the article says 14 days when the UK government is saying 7. The WHO are saying 14 days.

    • Digital Unicorn says:

I’ve been reading that as well that we in the UK are about 2 weeks away from our apex of the outbreak.

Spain and Italy have seen small daily drops on confirmed infections but deaths are rising.

  3. Ali says:

The changing timeline for when Charles started to feel sick is not a shock

I bet William is leaking the information so that the video of him making fun of the virus stays buried.

    • Mrs.Krabapple says:

None of this matters. The royal family can do whatever they want, and will never be held to consequences. That’s the price of having a monarchy.

  4. Lolo86lf says:

Are we peasants supposed to feel terrible he is quarantined in one his palaces? Just a few aides caring for him as opposed to a small army of them. I hope he can survive this crisis.

    • MangoAngel says:

I mean, he is a 71-year old man with a pandemic illness. Fancy house and a cook aside, that still sucks.

My father-in-law is his age, and I wouldn’t begrudge him a housekeeping/cleaning service if he wanted to employ one, or someone to help with coming if he were to catch this virus.

I mean, he’s way too particular about his house to have someone else clean it, and actually enjoys cooking, so he’d be too stubborn to do any of those things, but still. I wouldn’t bat an eye if he decided to, especially if he were ill.

      • ChillyWilly says:

All of us would love to provide that for our older loved ones but most of us cannot. just like most of us can’t afford to be off work or for hospital bills. And we all work much harder than Charles ever has or ever will.

      • songbirds_thrive says:

Kingship and Queenship as part of the British monarchy is what it is. It’s history. The current QE-II and Prince Charles were born into this ancient institution, they didn’t create it. Of course, they are crafty and exceedingly entitled around holding onto and covering up the vast amount of wealth they have. Much of it is outright wealth and investments, and the ongoing income portion of it is tied to land ownership of their duchies, the Royal Art Collection, the various properties, etc. A few of the castles and estates are outright owned by the Queen and Prince Charles, but many of their residences are part of the Crown Estate, and therefore in part belong to the British people.

Should the monarchy ever come to an end in Britain, which may never happen due to it’s long history, and to the huge importance the royal family have on tourism dollars, the government would have to work out a deal with the Windsors re the various palaces and residential properties and estates that the Windsors don’t own outright.

My thinking is that something has to give eventually, and the monarchy will indeed be slimmed down and a lot of ways they go about doing things will necessarily change. Some of the old traditional rituals and the overriding sense of entitlement definitely need to change.

However, I do not begrudge Prince Charles receiving a test for the virus. He’s a symbolic head of state along with his mother in that he’s next in line to the British throne. Of course, he will be tested. He’s a V.I.P. Why gnash our teeth over that? He’s not the only person in the world who automatically receives preferential treatment surrounding all manner of issues!

The only thing that I’m concerned about and I don’t think is fair is the fact that some doctors and medical staffers are complaining that when they were suspected of being sick, they were sent home and authorities refused to test them so that they could find out whether or not they definitely had the virus. That doesn’t seem to make any sense to me. But maybe it’s because there aren’t a lot of testing kits available, and thus the harshness in deciding not to test people who come down with something. They were just sent home to sweat it out for the duration. Again, those people have a right to complain about V.I.P.s like Prince Charles and Boris Johnson receiving preferential treatment over their needs as medical professionals. This, particularly when if these medical caregivers were diagnosed, it could ease their minds one way or another, and they might be able to return to work. Surely they are needed in helping to care for others during this crisis, so determining whether they contracted the virus or not seems important.

      • songbirds_thrive says:

I certainly hope that by the time Wills/ Cain inherits the throne, that the whole expensive ceremonial coronation hoopla is streamlined and toned down. They are not royal by divine right, they are only royal because ancestors in their genealogical lineage were victorious in ancient battles fought in order to seize power and the English throne.

      • ArtHistorian says:

A coronation has no place in a constitutional monarchy. It harks back to the divine right of kings and it is symbolically inappropriate in a state that is democratically run. A proclamation by the PM is much more appropriate, possibly followed by a public oath in church.

UK is the only monarchy that still performs a coronation of a new monarch.

The Windsors are British royals because they descend from a distant Stuart relative that happened to be Protestant. James II was deposed for being Catholic and neither of his Protestant daughters had any children. Hence the choosing of the (Protestant) House of Hannover, which had a distant Stuart ancestor.

      • bluemoonhorse says:

No way did Chuck fly to Scotland without a personal physician along with a boatload of drugs and a respirator.

    • Tessa says:

Also, Charles never had to worry about being unemployed. There are people unemployed because many businesses closed and they struggle to pay bills. Charles also is guaranteed immediate care and does not have to wait on long lines for testing.

  5. AGreatDane says:

This hasn’t boded well for any other traveling and sick people, probably won’t bode well for those who had to service Charles on his flight to Scotland either. Charles loves a retinue, so much so that he had to put them at risk to go to Scotland when Scotland specifically asked the English toffs to stay home.

    • Yvette says:

I’m pretty sure the article said that it was a private flight without his usual entourage. Aren’t private flights just the pilot(s) and perhaps one attendant? In this instance, the attendant was probably the one assistant who is with Charles and Camilla during their isolation at the Queen Mother’s house.

  6. ABritGuest says:

The royal family have been getting dragged for filth since Charles coronavirus news. People were really angry about the Cornwalls’ access to tests with query over Camilla if she wasn’t showing symptoms compared to NHS workers. And then travelling to remote area in Scotland. Charles was getting mocked when they said he was still WFH & the Cambridges are too right now for some WFH pictures released overnight.

So I can see why this piece highlights Charles being proactive with calling Red Cross etc. People are saying problem for the BRF is if they can’t be out there in the public it will have people questioning their value (See abolish the monarchy trending last week). Their PR experts better put in the work.

    • songbirds_thrive says:

Well, the royals’ p.r. experts are ‘putting in the work.’ W&K have already been piggybacking on the statements posted on the Sussexes’ Instagram re concern and support surrounding this crisis. The Sussexes were the first British royals to say peep. Meanwhile, the RR are giving Cain the credit for ‘speaking out first’ with that video about funding for the national emergency service. That video announcement was a rushed together reaction to the Sussexes’ message about the virus, posted on their Instagram. Cain made his announcement three hours after the Sussex post.

And now, the DM is reporting that W&K are suddenly supporting a mental health initiative that was formed to help people during this crisis. Again, the jumping to cosign this mental health initiative by the Lamebridges is a direct reaction to the second Sussex royal post voicing concern for everyone’s mental health at this time.

I’m sure we can expect the p.r. staffers to keep tabs on everything the Sussexes are doing to help others during this crisis, and then copyKate it for the Lamebridges, since neither Cain nor Unable have an original thought in their heads.

      • SomeChick says:

        William did speak out first.

He told an awful, insensitive joke. Then he told the crisis line crew that he was “watching a lot of tv” while they worked long hours to actually help people.

        FURST!!!

First to show his entire ass around all of this. They DGAF. They just want the gravy train to keep running.

  7. Aria says:

Karma is a bitch. This is the beginning of the end of monarchy where they actively participate in smear campaign of Sussex. Her diamond jubilee repaired her image and the crown showed her as human. But the way she handle the Sussex vs andrew really ruined her entire reputation beacuse in the past people gave her pass for many mistakes like diana, out of touch ways etc but this is bland biased and with internet these things will forever change and no amount of sugar is going to cover her role in protecting pedophile. Charles got his karma now for his role in Sussex , I personally think he has very little role but at the same time he didnt do anything to stop. I’m waiting for cambridge karma turn , when it comes it’s going to blow up the cambridges where they backstabbed his own brother, sister in law and nephew for cheap pr and image. Universe is watching and the time will be perfect for karma delivering the cambridges. Also middleton will pay their price in this karma situation.

    • Linda says:

      @Aria
It baffles me when you speak of karma as regards members of the royal family contracting corona virus. Going by your logic, is it Karma that thousands of Italians including fifty seven doctors died of corona virus? Would it also be Karma if you or any celebitchy contracts the virus?

      • Aria says:

Where did the say Charles got virus as karma. I said karma beacuse many people are question the use of monarch now in this situation and constant leaking to press really bad for brf . Beacuse of what did to diana , now his own subject doesnt feel sorry for him .

    • snackzilla says:

How do you know Charles didn’t do anything to stop the smears against H&M?
He has been highly complimentary of Meghan in the press.
      No one deserves this virus.

      • Aria says:

No one deserves the virus but the karma for charles is reputation is getting dragged . I never said virus is karma , karma is people of uk getting wake up how royal take their money and how privilege they are and how normal one cannot get access to nhs but public servant of uk aka royal family get tested for coron. I bet all of them got tested to make sure. Do you have any evidence that Charles was not active in this smear campaign??

      • songbirds_thrive says:

Charles and the Queen were initially supportive and accepting of Meghan, yes. But what condemns them both is the fact they sat back quietly and chose not to speak out against the relentless dragging of Meghan while she was pregnant, by the reprehensible British media. Both the Queen and Charles had to ultimately know about Will’s and KP’s role, yet they still remained silent. And nothing was said by either of them when their grandson/ great-grandson, Archie, was compared to a chimp. There comes a time when stiff-upper-lip has to go out the window. Apparently, the Queen DID NOT learn enough from the Diana years.

Only George Clooney, Ellen, Elton John, and Meghan’s friends spoke out publicly. That’s shameful they were the only ones who cared enough and who understood the necessity. The fact neither Charles nor the Queen spoke out, nor any other member of the royal firm, has already come back to haunt the House of Windsor. In some part of him, I’m sure Harry will never forgive his family for their silence, or his brother for his petty betrayals.

    • Jaded says:

Karma’s got nothing to do with it – he got COVID-19 because he didn’t do appropriate distancing and self-isolating. The Cambridges are stupid and it will be their own stupidity that brings them down. When people use subterfuge, lies, revenge and jealousy they will get caught out eventually, especially in this day of social media everywhere. There are a lot of people who are holding a lot of tea on that family and pretty soon they will start to spill because the privilege of the BRF cannot survive while the country watches them get preferential treatment as thousands of people sicken and possibly die. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

      • songbirds_thrive says:

Exactly @Jaded. I don’t think people fully realize the dire consequences of what the world is going through at the moment. Life as we know it may never be the same, particularly if this virus or other viruses continue to return year after year. They need to crack down on the unsanitary slaughtering of infected exotic wild animals by Chinese meat market purveyors! Researchers know that’s where the virus originated: via bats to wild animals who were subsequently slaughtered and handled under unsanitary conditions in these horrid meat markets — this time in Wuhan, China.

You are correct about the House of Windsor too, and especially about the Lamebridges. Cain & Unable will definitely be facing some strong karma at the rate they’ve been behaving toward Meghan & Harry. The unhappiness in the Lamebridges’ relationship is palpable. Only their cute kids are keeping them afloat in the public’s good graces.

That’s why all the pap-appearances Cain & Unable have been doing with their kids. It was way too soon for little Charlotte and George to be pap-walked going to church during Xmas at Sandringham. These type of decisions may have some sad consequences for the Cambridge kids down the road. Uneasy is the head that wears the crown.

      • SomeChick says:

Doing stupid things and then suffering the consequences is pretty much the definition of karma.

  8. Alexandria says:

I hope Trooping The Colour even in other forms will not involve massive groups of army and police personell who are better off resting and taking care of essential services and operations during this crisis. And the funds set aside for the celebration should be channelled to the NHS.

  9. Chaine says:

Gee, I was kind of feeling sorry for him just on the human level for having caught COVID, but the rent thing? No. You are an extremely wealthy individual who when your mother soon dies will be among the richest men on earth. Give your tenants some freaking rent FORGIVENESS.

    • Nev says:

      WORD.
I’m stunned he isn’t already doing that. Wow.

    • Pineapple says:

And this, this is why the rich stay rich. He would be appalled at the idea of rent forgiveness.

    • bluemoonhorse says:

Yeah he’s a pig, like all these rich people who tell us to get back to work.

    • Bella DuPont says:

      @ Pineapple

My guess would be that it’s not the loss of income from rent forgiveness that’s the issue in itself; it’s more because it could become a very slippery slope indeed.

    • lucy2 says:

Yes he could very easily put a hold on all rent for a month or 2 and then reassess. The “you can pay me back later” method is pretty gross, considering who he is.

    • Redgrl says:

Yeah – that and the whole “someone to prepare his meals” bit ticked me off also. Cook for your own d**n self and don’t put others at risk for that.

  10. Harper says:

About a week ago I saw an article that the Queen will speak to her subjects when the time is right. Now who knows what that means? When she stops coughing? When the UK death toll starts to surpass Italy’s? This family is oddly all about “timing,” which they seem to always get wrong. She could speak more than once, or is that also against some 1940s-set protocol?

    • Harla says:

While I agree that the Queen should have spoken to her subjects before now but I believe that she has to wait until the government asks her to.

    • Prairiegirl says:

The Queen has made ‘special’ public statements only 3 times: after the first Gulf War, after Diana’s death, and after the Queen Mum’s death. She probably will make a public statement about the pandemic but it doesn’t surprise me at all that she hasn’t done it yet.

    • And yet, PrairieGirl —- The longer she puts it off, the wonkier it all is. In this age of a camcorder on tripods, how hard would it be for one professional to light the room, set up equipment, then have her come in — while the two of them maintain an 8 foot distance — and have her record a two minute speech? The way they are dragging this out and this will she or won’t she BS makes it sound as if she is on some outer planet millions of miles away and thus communication is extremely difficult to set up. I think, the Queen is — once again—- making a huge blunder. Unfortunately, there is no Tony Blair to tell her to get off her ass and open her mouth and be the monarch to her people she has sacrificed her personal life to be. I mean isn’t that one of the main functions Of modern monarchy now — to lead in offering comfort and support to one’s subjects? To be seen as helping to pull the country together in times of crisis? To be seen as a font of strength and assurance?

      • Feeshalori says:

Unless the queen is ill herself and they’re keeping a tight lid on this information. Just my Sunday tinfoil tiara theory.

      • Bella DuPont says:

        @ Feeshalore

Yup, 100%, just posted similar below.

Yep,I have no real respect for Liz or any of the royals, but certainly don’t wish any illness to them, but I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that queen or Phillip have this too,and she won’t speak (or can’t physically do it)and will only say something when she’s well-Could you imagine the field day if press finds out queen and Charles would have this at the same time…

    • songbirds_thrive says:

Let’s face it, at the moment, the Queen has no idea what to say. Her speech will be written for her anyway, as they always are.

  11. S808 says:

Someone didn’t like getting dragged for filth huh? This story change only makes me believe the original timeline more.

    • savu says:

Exactly! Here we were, asking why he flew when he was feeling symptoms, and whether he flew private or commercial. And here it is, a conveniently changed timeline that answers both of those questions! Totally with you, I think the first story is the true story.

  12. TheOriginalMia says:

I’m not surprised Charles and Camilla were tested. We’ve long suspected Charles was Elizabeth’s regent. It makes sense for him to be tested and for Camilla as his spouse to be tested as well. Regardless of how I feel about his role in Sussexit, he’s sill a de facto head of state and will get a test before the rest of us.

What I don’t understand is QEII’s near silence in addressing the contagion, especially with BoJo being infected. What happened to the role of the monarchy in offering stability and strength in times of crisis? Proving daily the monarchy isn’t needed.

    • Exactly, OriginalMia.

    • Bella DuPont says:

OR, she’s not in a position to make such a statement.

*Tinfoil hat theory*: The Queen is battling Coronavirus. Mild or severe, they won’t disclose until well after the fact because it could really cause people to panic over the extent of devastation caused by this disease.

My prediction: She survives and continues another decade (at least). I imagine the disease feeling casually confident at gaining yet another elderly victim, only to finally understand the meaning of the word *BATTLE-AXE*. 👵🙅‍♀️⛏⚒

LOL 😆 Oh Bella, what an image you conjure! Anyway I hope you’re right by about five years. I’d actually like to see Charles become King within 5 years. He’s certainly waited long enough, so I hope he recovers. And I hope the Queen and Pip are not infected. Wills and Unable need to wait as long as possible! The Queen and Pip have surely lasted quite a long time. Pip already looks like walking death. You may be right though about the Queen’s longevity through at least the next 8 to 10 years. But I think it might be less than 8 years.

The Queen’s mother lived to 102. Pip will celebrate his 99th birthday on June 10. I knew two elderly people close to me who lived to 98 and 99 respectively. My paternal grandmother lived to over 100, but in a nursing home. One of my paternal aunts lived to 95 and she was still fiercely mentally strong, but her physical health had weakened.

    • lucy2 says:

I’m not surprised he was tested, but Camilla’s testing seemed unnecessary. If she was in contact with him, she should have just gone into isolation, like everyone else is being told to do.

      • songbirds_thrive says:

You’re right. Unless Camilla had symptoms, they just should have monitored her, and saved one of those tests for doctors who were ill and sent home to isolate without being tested first!

    • RoyalBlue says:

The queen won’t make any statements until BoJo tells her to. She is to do as she is told. #useless

    • Tessa says:

There has been no announcement that Charles is regent. He can’t be Regent unless there is an official announcement or any evidence. I doubt the Queen would want a Regency unless things become truly dire.

  13. Edna says:

A private flight from London to Scotland? Hmmmm…no one seems upset about flying private. I guess that outrage is reserved for the Sussexes.

    • Chrissy says:

No kidding. He’s supposedly the most environmentally-aware Prince of Wales ever, preaching for decades about climate change and yet, rather than stay in one of his many homes in England (where he could get to by car), he chooses to fly private to another home hundreds of miles away, knowing he’d been exposed to a deadly virus (Prince Albert anyone?) that his age makes him susceptible to or contagious? Can anyone say thoughtless hypocrite?

And the rent thing just shows that he lives on another planet where empathy doesn’t exist. He should be offering rent-freedom for his tenants for at least 6 months, to be reassessed afterward. What a tightwad!

      • songbirds_thrive says:

Speaking of Andrew, I guess he’s feeling somewhat relieved that the virus is taking up all the airwaves everywhere, and the legal cases in New York against Epstein’s estate are now stalled. So maybe Andrew is giving thanks to COVID-19, even though it’s virulence has also disrupted his daughter’s nuptials. As we know, Andrew is selfish and entitled as hell.

      • MangoAngel says:

It’s entirely possible that he flew in a carbon-neutral private plane. Considering he had a vintage Jaguar revamped into an electric car, him being conscious of flying carbon-neutral is perfectly reasonable.

  14. Belli says:

Is anyone going to believe the new story that Charlie started showing symptoms on his flight to Scotland?

Before we were told that the symptoms developed just before the public dragged him for bringing the sickness to a rural area with an older population and depleted healthcare resources.

This feels like a panicked changing of the story.

  15. ABritGuest says:

In all honesty I wonder about the Queen’s health and if they are keeping a lid on it because Charles, Boris &some other government ministers have tested positive with coronavirus. The palace said she was well but had a terse statement about not commenting further& it was said a week ago or so that she would do a public address. Over a thousand people have died from this in the U.K.& they are suggesting lockdown may not end for up to 6 months- so relative silence seems odd. Whatever is up hope she is ok& wish Charles& anyone diagnosed a speedy recovery.

  16. MeghanNotMarkle says:

This is all too convenient and leads me to believe that the first story is the correct one.

    • RoyalBlue says:

@Meghan. The first story is usually the correct one and then When feedback is received the PR machinery roll in and amend the narrative.

      • Jumpingthesnark says:

BRF thinking they can put out conflicting stories and the peasants will just follow blindly along like sheep. We see you, Sh$theads.

  17. Coco says:

Season three of ‘The Windsors’ is coming to Netflix this week. I hope it savages all of them.

  18. Truthiness says:

On a purely superficial level, Camilla looks like an electric candle.

  19. MeghanNotMarkle says:

It’s amazing how some people buy the revised history. But then the BRF has been doing this for centuries so they know they can get away with it.

  20. jj says:

TMZ posted that someone close to the Queen tested positive for Corona too.

    • bluemoonhorse says:

Her footman – there’s a reason we haven’t seen her and why Charles isolated himself quickly.

  21. Awkward symphony says:

So he deliberatly took it to Scotland🤬

  22. Rapunzel says:

A flight from London to Scotland is what, an hour and a half? I know I once flew from Barcelona to Scotland and it was only about 2.5 hours. London to Scotland should be a very short hop.

So we are being told he went from symptom free to symptomatic enough to test in 90 mins? Highly dubious.
