THE Wetsuit Centre has unveiled plans to open an all-new water sports outlet next month.

The new hub is expected to be one of the largest on the south coast and promises to cater for all water sports and every ability.

Since the start of the pandemic, director Jeff Skeoch says the British water sports industry has seen a massive uptake in people wanting to get out in the water.

The rise in popularity of a range of sports including surfing and open water swimming has seen the Wetsuit Centre's online presence sky rocket, leading them to open a new warehouse to cater for their online orders.

Mr Skeoch said: "We saw a big influx in our customer base last summer which required some sort of rapid expansion to accommodate.

"We decided to move location so we've got a specific online warehouse which allowed us to open up the old warehouse into an outlet.

"It should now be one of the biggest walk-in water sports stores in the country.

"It will cater for everyone, surfers, sailors, swimmers and even spear fishing."

The Wetsuit Centre is currently getting ready to reopen as an outlet in April. (Wetsuit Centre).

In response to the unprecedented influx of new and emerging water sports enthusiasts, the Wetsuit Centre has expanded its original warehouse on Station Approach in Boscombe to house an all-new outlet.

With a number of national lockdowns impeding customers ability to see, touch and try-on equipment the Wetsuit Centre believe there's a real thirst for an outlet of this size on the south coast.

Mr Skeoch said: "We thought there was strong demand for a water sports store where you could actually come in and try stuff on, look at all the gear and have some expert advice face-to-face - there's a big requirement for that in our area especially.

"Having someone there to give you advice on whether or not it's actually a good fit and if it's going to be fit for purpose is really important in the water sports industry.

"Going forward we will have a very spacious warehouse and procedures in place which will still allow people to try things on.

"It will be a really exciting time."

Some of the brands the outlet will stock include Helly Hansen, RipCurl, O'Neill, Mystic, C-Skins, DryRobe, Orca and Aerial Material.

The Wetsuit Centre will reopen on 12 April from 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Saturday and 9am to 4.30pm on Sundays.
