HUNTSVILLE, Alabama - David Barrow, the volunteer girls soccer coach at Guntersville High School charged with sexual abuse, filed a petition in Madison County Circuit Court today alleging he was being held in jail unlawfully.

According to the petition against Madison County Sheriff Blake Dorning, Barrow complained that he was held more than 48 hours - in violation of Alabama law - without bond being set or a probable cause determination being made by a judge or a magistrate.

Barrow has been charged with three counts of first-degree sexual abuse and one count of first-degree human trafficking

Barrow was booked into Madison County Jail at 3:21 p.m. on Friday, according to jail records. He was released from jail about 3 p.m. today after posting a $180,000 bond.

The petition was filed for Barrow by Huntsville attorney Ron Smith.

The petition also said Huntsville police did not have an arrest warrant when Barrow was arrested on Friday at John Hunt Park at the Alabama High School Athletic Association state soccer tournament.
