Tulsa Police shut down the northbound lanes of Highway 169 at the Broken Arrow Expressway for about 45 minutes because of two crashes, one involving a pickup and a motorcycle.

Officers said a motorcycle had come to a stop because an Oklahoma Department of Transportation crew was filling potholes in the highway. A pickup then struck the bike from behind and the impact pushed the motorcycle into another vehicle.

EMSA transported the motorcycle rider to a hospital with broken arms and ribs in serious condition.

Tulsa Police believe the pickup driver was distracted by his cell phone at the time of the crash.

Shortly after that crash, officers said a northbound car struck the rear of another car. We don't know if anyone in those two cars was injured.

Video from Osage SkyNews 6 showed northbound traffic backed up for several miles behind the two crashes.
