Hillary Clinton's achievements? State Dept. spokeswoman can't think of one

Hillary Clinton's record as secretary of state is coming under fire after a State Department spokeswoman failed to provide an example of any of Clinton's achievements during her time in the office from 2009 to 2013.

State Department Press Secretary Jen Psaki was asked to identify "one tangible achievement" from Clinton's tenure as secretary of state during a press conference on Tuesday, The Daily Mail reported.

"I am certain that those who were here at the time, who worked hard on that effort, could point out one," Psaki told Associated Press reporter Matt Lee. "I'm sure there are a range of things that were put into place that I'm not even aware of," she added.

"I won't hold my breath," Lee responded.

A video of the exchange spread online.

CNN's John King and guests Juana Summers and Nia-Malika Henderson laughed at the clip on Wednesday.

"Given Hillary Clinton's obvious ambitions that we continually talk about, although she's not giving us much to go off of, it should not have been a surprising question," Summers said.

The Republican National Committee responded to the exchange, saying it illustrated the former secretary of state's poor record, CNN reported.

"It speaks volumes that the State Department is having trouble naming the accomplishments from Secretary Clinton's tenure," said RNC spokesman Jahan Wilcox.

"Americans are quite familiar with Hillary Clinton's role regarding Benghazi and the failed Russia Reset initiative, but they're still scratching their heads on what exactly she accomplished as the secretary of state," he added.

Clinton has also had trouble coming up with an example of her achievements, The Daily Mail noted.

At an appearance at the Women of the World Summit in New York City on April 3 she was asked by a moderator, "When you look at your time as Secretary of State, what are you most proud of? And what do you feel was unfinished, and maybe have another crack at one day?"

"Well, I really see - that was good - that's why he wins prizes," Clinton replied.

"Look, I really see my role as secretary, in fact leadership in general in a democracy, as a relay race," she added. "When you run the best race you can run, you hand off the baton. Some of what hasn't been finished may go on to be finished, so when President Obama asked me to be Secretary of State I agreed."

She ended up deciding that "setting the values, setting the standards" of American leadership was one of her achievements:
