Today’s historic unveiling of ‘Slipstream’, a 78 metre sculpture by one of our leading British Artists, Richard Wilson RA, is the culmination of 4 years work by Futurecity, on behalf of our client Heathrow.
Futurecity are fiercely proud to have been involved as originators of the Covered Court international arts commission and as project curators, brokering this complex, ambitious and courageous placemaking project, from inception to completion.
The completion of Slipstream will provide a landmark cultural marker for Heathrow, for London and for the UK, in the grand entranceway to the new Queens Terminal.
Slipstream will join a series of past, present and future, high-profile Futurecity cultural projects that promote engagement with new audiences and provide opportunities for artists to take a leading role in the context of architectural, landscape and infrastructure collaborations.
