Prince Andrew went to church with the Queen at Balmoral yet again

I’m trying to keep track of the Duke of York’s movements this summer. He was one of the first visitors to Balmoral when the Queen arrived for her annual summer holiday. He was the first relative to escort the Queen to church, and it just happened to be 24 hours after Jeffrey Epstein’s mysterious death. Then he flew – via private plane – to Spain, where he golfed and spent time with Fergie and issued stupid statements about Epstein. Then he flew – via private plane – to England for crisis meetings with advisors. Then he flew to Northern Ireland for some official events (some of which were canceled because everyone now knows Andrew is toxic). Then Andrew flew… back to Balmoral? Andrew was in Scotland this weekend, and he rode to church with the Queen again. Once again, the Queen wants it to be known that she’s protecting her favorite son and THERE IS NOTHING TO SEE HERE.

What’s funny is that there’s actually a surprising amount to see here. Some Andrew stories going around:

Jeffrey Epstein hired a “fixer” to help Andrew. This was in 2011, after Epstein was a convicted pedophile and after Prince Andrew went on a walk with Epstein in Central Park. Epstein hired a PR guy named Michael Sitrick, who then worked with Mark Bolland, who was then a PR executive but he had worked for Prince Charles and he was familiar with the royals, obviously. It’s all complicated and a web of money and influence, and I don’t completely understand it.

Andrew’s fight with the Queen’s Master of Household. The dude is named Tony Johnstone-Burt and for about two weeks, there have been rumors that Andrew and Tony got into some kind of major kerfuffle, possibly verbal, possibly… shoving or some kind of physical altercation. Over what? Prince Andrew went to the Master of Household to see if he could get a room in Buckingham Palace to launch his Pitch@Palace initiative, only to be told by the Master of Household that there was no room for it and that the initiative is kind of terrible anyway. Andrew and this guy, Tony, almost came to blows about it and Charles later ordered his brother to apologize. And people in the palace are still talking about it – you can read the Mail on Sunday’s latest about it here.

Courtney Love enters the conversation. Courtney said that she was introduced to Andrew through Jeffrey Epstein. At one point, Love claims, Andrew turned up at her house at 1 am and wanted to sleep with her but she rejected him (and served him tea).

Andrew’s PR consultant? The Daily Mail has a lengthy and shady article about how Andrew spent an entire week in Northern Ireland, even though half of his events were canceled. Andrew spent much of that week golfing and spending time with a man named Paul Tweed. Tweed is a “reputation management” expert, aka a crisis manager. While the DM notes that “The pair are acquaintances and it is believed Mr Tweed is not working for the Prince or Buckingham Palace,” it also feels like Andrew is meeting with a lot of PR “experts” these days. They must have told him to continue to use his mother as a shield from criticism.

Straight to the celebitchy comments ….. LOL

  2. Tiffany says:

    Liz….this will be your legacy.

    Think about that.

    • Mignionette says:

Exactly. Tone deaf to the extremes. Meanwhile she ‘allegedly’ will not hear of anyone speaking of Harry and Meg in her presence. Obviously BP PR to make it known that she considers Andrew to be a good boy and yet more evidence of throwing the Sussexes under a bus for collateral damage.

      • Lisa says:

Yeah when I read that I was like really not Andrew but the Sussex’s is off limits. I really hope that is just an untrue rumor.

      • Maria says:

Wait, she “won’t hear of anyone speaking of Harry and Meg in her presence”? Like, she can’t stand them?

      • Becks1 says:

@maria – it was the dumbest thing on twitter. Someone tweeted and said that a friend of an acquaintance knew someone (or the friend of the acquaintance was the actual person?) who was going riding with the Queen and was told that there was one topic they were not to bring up – the Sussexes.

Honestly, I doubt its true, but if it is, my guess would be the Queen doesn’t want anyone to ask about the Sussexes bc she doesn’t care if they take private jets or Meghan wears jeans to Wimbledon, so asking her about it probably is just annoying.

      • lanne says:

The optics for the Queen are terrible. Appearing with her pedophile son while saying she doesn’t want to talk about her Granddaughter in law who just had a successful charity roll out of the patronage the QUEEN granted her? The Queen must know about the media pile up on Meghan, and how it makes the BRF look. Why not say a quick “I’m proud of my grandson and granddaughter in law.” How hard would that be? I’m starting to think more and more that Meghan has revealed the rampant racism within the royal family. Does she, or Charles, honestly think the Commonwealth countries don’t see this? Especially after the Sussexes have 2 successful Commonwealth tours? This is embarrassing. I guess racism really is that insidious that people will destroy their own damn house just to prevent a POC from joining them at the table.

      • BayTampaBay says:

Maybe QE does not want to talk about the Sussexes because she does not want to hear anything negative about them nor does she want to take advice from people who do not know all.

      • Megan says:

They are wasting their money on PR consultants. It’s clear Pedo Andy has not intention of following their advice.

      • kerwood says:

I agree with @Becks1. I think she’s sick of hearing shit about the Sussexes and so has made them off topic. But she has to know that she could stop that criticism by just a few words expressing her support for them Is she so obsessed with protecting her criminal son who has NEVER been worth the trouble? She’s going to throw away the decades of sacrifice and hard work for that pedophile. It breaks my heart.

    • JAC says:

He’s her son. He’s a monster, but I understand chosing him over her legacy.

      • Jen says:

It’s not just about legacy though. It’s about continuing to give him a voice and protection.

I have sons that I love dearly, but if either of them raped a child? No. Game over.

      • Mary says:

@JAC, I find it horrible when anyone justifies the support, by family (often extending to participating in or helping to cover up a crime) of a criminal, pedophile or other. @Jen, you have the right idea.

I always laughed at what my parents said to us when we were kids but it is so true and valid in my mind:

“Unconditional love means that we will visit you in prison every Sunday.”

    • minx says:

Yep, she has really gone down in my estimation.

  4. (TheOG)@Jan90067 says:

Smarmy. First word that comes to mind. That, and I need a shower any time I read an article about him. ZERO respect for TQ who continues to be a human shield for her favorite, undeserving little b@stard.

  5. Seraphina says:

Maybe as leader of the Church, her Mag is trying to save his soul by taking him to church.

    • fifee says:

Thats was my first thought, trying to make him atone for his sins. Unfortunately for him the church minister doesnt take confessions so he needs to get on a bended knee and pray, sincerely …..

  6. HK9 says:

When is the Royal Family going to realize that no amount of “prancing to church” pics are going to get him out of this?

    • STRIPE says:

Why wouldn’t they think that, though? Haven’t they been relatively immune up to this point? I see no reason this will be different based on the press coverage and tone. But then again I sit in America – I would love to hear that the tide is turning in the UK!

  7. BayTampaBay says:

There are many comments on other posting sites calling for Charles to “step in and do something” because QEII is not seeing this problem for what it really is. This problem is not going to just blow over; It is going to get worse as more Epstein shit comes out of the darkness and into the light via the front pages of The Fail, The Slow and The Dim

    • Digital Unicorn says:

With TQ still lives it will be difficult for Chuck to step in and do something, plus there is no love lost between the brothers so its not as if Andrew would do what Charles tells him anyway. I think the only person Andrew would listen to is his father, I don’t think he’d even do what Mummy says.

Give Prince Fat Fingers enough rope and he will hang himself.

    • Seraphina says:

@BayTampaBay, I think you have the title for the daytime soap the BRF would be called: The Fail, The Slow and The Dim……

  8. Mignionette says:

Liz is really out here trying to give Andrew legitimacy.

I hope his patronages continue to cancel his a*se. There has to be a price for his brazenly supporting a pedophile to destroy the lives of young girls barely older than his own daughter.

Also @kaiser a really interesting point in your article re Epstein seeking to help Andrew manage his reputation. If Andrew really was not aware of ‘Epstein’s’ lifestyle, what was he trying to manage? That seems like a smoking gun to me, after all why seek counsel from a convicted paedophile and registered sex offender to manage reputational risk? That seems to indicate that he had PLENTY to hide….

    • Pineapple says:

Here’s a question … are we more terrified that:
      1. The Queen seems to condone paedophilia or;
      2. A convicted paedophile and registered sex offender thinks your reputation needs a polish?
Dear Lord, what is this world coming to??????

    • Silas says:

And instead it’s going to compromise her legitimacy.

We saw the truth in the first set of pictures. The Defender of the Faith riding to church with her pedo son both grinning widely, after Jeffrey Epstein’s death.

At least this time they realized they shouldn’t smile.

The Mom who is Queen and look how that’s turning out.

  9. Elkie71 says:

Has he decided that he suddenly needs to start praying for his Immoral soul oh sorry that is meant to be Immortal.

  10. The Other Sarah says:

The Mail on Sunday article linked to is brutal on Andrew. Surprisingly so and rather enjoyable to read – I recommend it!

    • The Hench says:

I followed your recommendation. Whoeee! They certainly pulled few punches..

“The same cannot be said of the Duke. Habitually described as boorish and arrogant, he is prone to tantrums”

      and

“To begin with at least, his Navy career followed a roughly similar arc to that of Mr Johnstone-Burt’s, but the latter, a married father of five, would rise much higher.

While the Duke’s dedication was never in question, he left the service as a commander when it became clear that unlike Mr Johnstone-Burt, he had neither the intellect nor leadership qualities to make admiral.”

      Burn.

      • ArtHistorian says:

Another quote from the Mail on Sunday:

“He drew frequent criticism over his behaviour and it was claimed that his nickname among the British diplomatic community in the Gulf was HBH (His Buffoon Highness). One former diplomat claimed the moniker stemmed from Andrew’s ‘childish obsession’ with doing exactly the opposite of what had been agreed in pre-visit meetings.”

        HIS BUFFOON HIGHNESS!!!!!

        Lmao.

      • Jen says:

“His Buffoon Highness” is giving me life on this dreary Monday.

    • Becks1 says:

Eek it IS brutal!!! “neither the intellect nor leadership qualities” LOLOL

    • FC says:

Have you seen the photo of Courtney Love and Andrew in the Mail? She has her arm around a young girl and it looks like she’s introducing her to Andrew. All sorts of gross. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7465609/Courtney-Love-claims-Prince-Andrew-turned-house-1am-looking-sex.html

    • Himmiefan says:

Better that than another unwarranted Meghan hit piece.

  11. Loretta says:

    Disgusting.

  12. MCV says:

Wish I could time travel and see all this on The Crown.

  13. Becks1 says:

My mind was blown when I saw these pics.

The first time – a month ago -I was willing to give the Queen a semi-pass – like maybe she really is just that much of an ostrich and Andrew is that much of a conceited privileged ass that neither one thought the pictures were going to cause the outrage they did. I know, that’s unlikely and doubtful, they knew those pictures were going to make waves, but I’m trying to give the benefit of the doubt.

BUT, this time? No excuse. No benefit of the doubt. None. Some are saying its tone-deaf, and I disagree somewhat. Its just that the queen is listening to a different tune than the rest of us. She knew what she was doing with this church ride, and she wants people to know it.

  14. Maria says:

One church ride might have been a coincidence but now it is crystal clear how she feels about all this.

    • Anance says:

It’s almost as if all those PR consultants “not consulting” with Andrew thought one trip to church with the Queen was simply not enough.

I wonder if Lilli and Andy will become regularly photographed churchgoers now.

  15. Sharonk says:

The stink will never wash off him. He’ll glide by but the PR damage is complete.
The queen probably doesn’t know what to do, of course she’ll protect her son.
Get rid of all of them. Entitled, lazy and inconsequential.

  16. Amaria says:

When a pedo sex offender living in the open thinks you need to fix your image, things aren’t… Great.

  19. christy says:

Lainey wrote a piece about a letter Virginia Giuffre’s lawyer sent to Andy and seemed to have all the details. Very interesting but I’m wondering why it wasn’t covered elsewhere….

  20. VS says:

Honest question: do the car ride photo op help? Andrew did it; W&K did it. How does that really help?

In the case of Andrew — people are still talking about J. Epstein
In the case of W&K — all articles were still about how the Sussexes aren’t there.

    so what is the point?

    • Anance says:

It is an antiquated way of stating the Queen approves of Andy and W&K. However, despite Meghan’s successful charity launch, the PR people put out that tweet (today’s equivalent of a blind item) indicating the Queen does not approve of Meghan.

Meghan is just fodder for press during Andy Troubles and Brexit.

  21. Debbie says:

    Disgusting and Sickening

  22. MeghanNotMarkle says:

I lost all respect for HM a while ago. This continued pushing of the Saint Pedo Andy narrative is disgusting. It turns my stomach.

What Charles gone do to Andrew….

    WHEW CHILE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Betsy says:

Ha! This is what I’m waiting for.

And I’m also dang mad that she had to eff this up so royally (ha). That woman’s been on the throne almost as long as my parents have been alive and she’s had many missteps and bad decisions, but she’s been dedicated and done it.

And now she’s defending her pedophile rapist son. It undoes everything.

  24. tw says:

What could they possibly be laughing about on the way to church? Honestly? And ewww he looks very Philipy in that profile, laughing photo. Philip is racist trash and his sex offender son is trash, too. #abolishthemonarchy

  25. Rae says:

All I’ll say is that my opinion of the Queen is pretty damn low right now.

  26. Burdzeye View says:

VIPS are allowed to get away with the most disgusting crimes. And people are willing to take a wage to cover them up and call it PR. They are as sick as any sex offender you’ll find in any town anywhere – why are they treated differently? Their crimes are just as vile. If the Queen thinks she should continue to be seen with Andrew..one of her advisors should be giving her a reality check – this is serious, terrible crimes have been committed against children….WTAF? If he’s not going to face the police the very least they could do is chuck his Royal Smugness and leeching wife out of the country – do a Duke of Windsor on him. I dont know anyone apart from the Queen who’d be sorry to see the bastard go.

    • Anance says:

“VIPS are allowed to get away with the most disgusting crimes. And people are willing to take a wage to cover them up and call it PR. ”

B/c what they offer is so valuable. Imagine being able to invite your friends to a party at Buckingham Palace. That’s what Andrew offered in exchange for…whatever from Epstein.

  27. SJR says:

    Dear Andy,
    Stop hiding behind your Mum.
Go to church all you like, but, everyone including God knows your bad behavior.
Change your ways, do something useful every day for the rest of your life. Stop having sex and using females as if they were plastic dolls.
No one thinks you are innocent of disgusting behavior, not now, not ever.

  28. A says:

Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like the Queen is going to cut Andrew loose at some point. Yes he is her favorite son, and it’s too little too late but I get the impression that her patience is wearing out too. Don’t know why but I think it’s maybe the fact that he is clashing with her advisors and it’s coming to the point of a physical confrontation. If the Queen were that invested in protecting and propping up Andrew, her advisors would have given him the go for his initiative launch, or risk finding employment elsewhere. The fact that he got a flat no from someone kind of shows to me that the Queen has decided that there’s no point in going all out. Just my impression of things. I think the fact that she wanted to stand by him at all is effing reprehensible, but then again, why people look to the Queen as a font of morality is beyond me.

    • Mrs.Krabapple says:

She won’t cut him loose, she’ll give him diplomatic immunity. Philip will die soon, then people won’t talk about this out of respect for the queen. Then the queen will die, and everybody will be in mourning. Then eventually people will forget about Andrew.

    • Lala11_7 says:

I don’t think the Queen will EVA turn her back on her favorite child…

But once Charles becomes King….oh…HE WILL PUT HIM IN CHECK…and I’m talking…

“Andy…you need to learn to live on an allowance of $10,000 pounds a month…CAUSE THAT’S IT!” Andy spends THAT on his cell phone bill….Charles is going to control him with those purse strings…that will be WAY SHORTER than he is used too….

      UNLESS….

The Queen hooks Andy up in her will!!! LAWD…I didn’t EVEN think about that one!

    • Elisa says:

No way she will cut him loose. She is absolutely tone-deaf.

    • A says:

@Lala, I think you’re onto something. I think the Queen will give him and the Yorks a sizable inheritance before and after she passes, and it will come with a caveat from Charles for Andrew quietly “retiring” from the RF, removing himself from the public eye, and going off to do whatever in much the same as Philip. The one thing that remains to be seen is whether or not Andrew and Fergie are more interested in fame and publicity or the $$$$.

When I say the Queen will cut him loose, I think she will at least do so on some public level. It won’t be a dramatic, “I don’t think he’s my son and he’s banished from ever gracing our doorstep again!” type scenario. But I do think she’ll stop with the pap strolls up in Balmoral and her attempts to lend him good publicity, all very quietly without a public declaration of course. She’ll support him behind closed doors, but not in the public eye. I know people have made a big deal about how much Andrew is her favourite, but people should also not underestimate the fact that she’s heavily invested in sustaining the monarchy, first and foremost. That has taken priority over her own marriage, over Charles, over the welfare of her grandchildren (and their spouses), and while Andrew might get a longer leash than everyone else in her life, I think he’s skirting dangerously close to the limit. If this had been even a few years ago, no way would the Queen have allowed any of her staffers to turn down Andrew’s request. And Charles would have never gotten him to apologize. I heavily suspect that the Queen’s staffers have essentially washed their hands of him, and she hasn’t done anything about it.

  29. liriel says:

Wow, AGAIN PR. She really loves Andrew and doesn’t care. Diana was bad and not worthy yet Andrew is a golden boy. Oh well.

  30. pantanlones en fuego says:

Lainey has a screen shot of a tweet from someone who alleges that the one subject not to be discussed in front of TQ is the Sussexes. Not her borderline pedo and suspected rapist son but her mixed race daughter in law and grandson. WTAF?

    • blue36 says:

Who cares? Who needs the support of an individual who is more than willing to protect a person who had ties to and likely is a pedophile. That car ride to Balmoral is forever tainted. That being said, I still wonder what’s going to happen legally, he’s clearly being protected hard by the palace and probably also the government from investigation. Idk how Virginia’s lawyers in America are going to get him to a trial.

      • pantanlones en fuego says:

I’m not saying they need her support but I find it mildly interesting that of all the subjects to not discuss in front of her M&H are what she wants people to avoid. I really hope that he is able to be prosecuted but I’m not holding my breath; the RF has always been protected by not only TQ but by RC as well and as long as there is a RF that will remain the same.

      • blue36 says:

It depends on how you interpret that quote, most people are obviously taking the negative angle and believe its because the queen is upset with them, the other interpretation could be that people are asking too much about the Sussexes to the Queen (maybe people who are trying to leak info to the tabs) and that’s why its off the table. Or it could be a courtier stirring up trouble. If she’s okay with any other subject than the Sussexes, that means questions about Andrew is not off the table. Andrew needs to be prosecuted and brought to trial – if he is innocent there is nothing to fear right?

      • BayTampaBay says:

I do not think that you can compare discussing pedo Andy and the Sussexes. Discussing pedo Andy is discussing fact and there is not much left to be said; only “what are you going to do”. Discussing the Sussexes is a matter of opinion and opinion is very diverse over the commentariat so I am very sure opinion is also very diverse among people she would be willing to discuss H&M with.

I really do not think QEII wants to discuss either topic with anybody other than those people she has to discuss the topics with.

      • blue36 says:

@BayTampaBay – I agree that it can’t be compared, but that quote from the journalist was basically implying that she’s willing to talk about anything (including Andrew) but not the Sussexes like anything they’ve done is more serious than the allegations against Andrew and that’s what irks me. That’s why a lot of people have been fighting back against this story by saying that “oh so its okay if someone asks her about Andrew right?” A lot of the negative comments about Harry and Meghan have been driven by the British press with help from royal courtiers, if anything its her inaction to control her own employees regarding the negativity against H&M but allowing them to go all out protecting her son that makes me despise her. He should be forced to go to court, these royals have gotten away with too much and believe they are above the rule of law. I hope Virginia’s lawyers go hard against Andrew, if he’s as innocent as the queen believes him to be, let him present himself in court to defend himself against these allegations.

    • Becks1 says:

This is what we were talking about at the top of the comments. I think it could be completely made up (the source sounds a bit ambiguous to say the least) but I also think if its true, its probably more to do with not wanting to get drawn into a discussion about two people who haven’t done anything wrong.

I wonder what their minister ministers about??? No matter the religion, the battle is always between good and evil, right?? Sure raping and abusing children/innocent is right up there in some kind of top five evil list.

JFC this is so dsigusting and infuriating. I wonder if ANYONE with young daughter under the age of 18 yrs would let their daughters hang out with Andy? Now that would be a telltale sign that Andy is supported and trusted. I was going to call him an fking pig, but I LOVE pigs, they are cleaner and smarter than Andy

They are Teflon and many people don’t care that they did these things. Girls’ and women’s bodies and lives are expendable.

ehh Andy going to church at Balmoral with the Queen is Normal, they do this every year;, they attend Church a few times at Balmoral and the Sandringham estates, especially around Christmas time. As they say, sinners are the ones to go to church often. Horrible optics, though should have chosen to gone with someone else, though wouldnt be surprised if she has rose colored galsses when it comes to Andy. Who would want to admit that their son is a pedophile? It’s disappointing and ruffles my feathers a bit, but I can see why she acts that way he is her son, probably will deny until she cannot. Charles is going to have to clean up her mess when he reigns, yikes,( thanks mum!)
