Panasonic ToughPad 5: Resistant to Elements

While it's not as popular as the waterproof Sony Xperia smartphones or the Galaxy S4 Active and the recently announced Galaxy S5, the Panasonic ToughPad 5 is indeed the smart device to beat when it comes to dealing with the elements. Waterproof, dust proof, shock proof, freeze proof, these are what separate the ToughPad 5 from the rest.

What's unique about it is that it works with either Android or a form of Windows Phone 8 called Windows Embedded 8 Handheld, which is a software made for line-of-business handheld devices, working with a number of built-in security measures as well as business productivity tools. Like many smartphone flagships, the ToughPad 5 has a 5-inch screen, running on Android 4.2 Jelly bean. Panasonic has also included a number of business-oriented apps in the device. It has both front-facing and rear cameras. Interestingly, it has a built-in projector and laser array.  There will be WiFi-only and cellular versions of the ToughPad 5. It will be available in Autumn of 2014.
