We're in a world where everything from travelling solo to travelling with strangers is a done deal. But have you ever thought just how much fun travelling with your family is?

What's that you say? You're an adult, and travelling to Shirdi with your parents just isn't your idea of a vacay? True, a pilgrimage might not be the best of vacations, especially if you're a twenty-something lad or lady. But there are lots of vacation options you could explore with your parents, and they'd all be worth it--even Goa!

The reasons behind this sort of a claim are simple and manifold. Take a look at some of our excuses for planning a vacation to the hills and beaches with our parents.

1. Comfort level

Yes, this is a big deal. You don't need to put up appearances or explain yourself at every point. You've grown up with each other (because, let's admit it, our parents did grow up a lot after having us!), and you know your family members inside out. This level of comfort is extremely relaxing. And when you lead a hectic urban life, that's the only kind of relaxation that will do you any good in the long run.

2. More varied exploration

Everyone wants to go to the same places when you're travelling with people of the same age group. A friend circle usually heads to spots that excite the group as a whole. But when it comes to a family, you will end up exploring more of a city. You'll end up tagging along with your parents to the museums and fairs, while they'll get a glimpse of contemporary lifestyle when you take them to a restaurant that boasts a unique cuisine. Ultimately, your experience of the destination would be more well-rounded and fulfilling.

3. Bonding as adults

Our parents bring us up, and they usually do it quite well. But most Indian parents forget that their kids have grown up. They still interact with us on the same level as they did when we were 12 years old. A family vacation is just the time for you to show them that you have, in fact, grown up. This would give them the opportunity of bonding with you as an adult, which will definitely give your relationship a new depth.

4. Renewed sense of responsibility

Family vacations as an adult can give you better insight into your attitude towards your relations. It's easy to 'wing it' when you're travelling with friends, or even alone. Travelling with ageing parents means that you'll have to look after them like they did when you were mere toddlers. It will give you a renewed sense of responsibility, and your parents will also feel cared for.

5. Create more memories to cherish

Of course you already have memories that can last a lifetime, but does that mean you can't make more? Travelling with your family will give you more experiences together, and help you nurture your relationship even further. Travelling with grown-up kids also allows parents to recreate old memories, especially if you take a trip to a place where you've vacationed, say, a decade ago. It gives your life together something more to talk about, even years later.

So what are you waiting for? Plan your next vacation with your family, and you won't regret it.
