Weekly Nano Update: 10/15/18
Epoch Blocks
Next week, the development team will begin distributing Epoch blocks across the network. Each account-chain, as well as any unopened account with a pending receive, will have an Epoch block added to it, representing the end of the Legacy block era and the completion of the Universal block upgrade.
This is a culmination of a tremendous amount of work by the developers and leaves the Nano network with only Universal blocks, which contain the full state of an account in one bundle of data.
We will be releasing an in-depth explainer of how Epoch blocks later this week. Stay tuned!
v17 (Boulton)
Following the successful release of version 16.2 last week, the developers have set their sights the next release of the Nano node software, which we are calling Boulton and includes the major feature lazy bootstrapping. We look forward to sharing more about the Nano Boulton release in upcoming days, and we can’t wait to begin its testing alongside the community.
The Nano Foundation greatly appreciates the support shown by the community as we continue to add features to the Nano protocol. Live on Payfair
Nano is now available for trading on Payfair.io, a decentralized escrow platform and peer-to-peer exchange. Thanks to the Payfair team for their work integrating Nano into their service.
Final iOS Testflight
For those users who have an expired testflight version of The Nano Wallet Company iOS wallet from earlier this year, lost their seed, and can no longer access their funds, Zack has launched a final testflight version.
