‘The Musketeers’ Series 2 begins filming

The second series of The Musketeers has begun filming in Prague.

Returning cast members include Luke Pasqualino (Skins) as D’Artagnan, Tom Burke (The Hour) as Athos, Santiago Cabrera (Merlin) as Aramis and Howard Charles (Royal Shakespeare Company) as Porthos.

Tamla Kari (Cuckoo), Maimie McCoy (Loving Miss Hatto), Hugo Speer (Bedlam), Ryan Gage (The Hobbit) and Alexandra Dowling (Poirot) will also be back in Series 2.

Peter Capaldi will not be returning as Cardinal Richelieu due to his Doctor Who filming commitments.

Marc Warren (Hustle) will join the cast as Comte De Rochefort, “a dashing and persuasive aristocrat with a talent for sword fighting and a taste for adventure”.

Co-produced by BBC Worldwide and BBC America, the new series will again comprise of ten 60-minute episodes.

Series 1 concluded on BBC One last month, with averaging 6.3 million viewers.

The Musketeers has been sold to 20 broadcasters who will air the show in 78 countries.
