Fire bug may be on the loose in Abbotsford

A busy night for fire crews in Abbotsford after two suspicious blazes broke out just one block away from each other.

Flames were first reported shortly after midnight in the basement of an abandoned home on Hillcrest Avenue.

Only a couple hours later, crews were called to another house on Adelaide Street where a fire was reported in the home’s garage.

All four people managed to get out safely.

Fire officials say the area has seen five suspicious incidents in the past week alone.
