Where’s everyone going?

Yesterday came with plenty of news of creatives moving shop. Check out the new faces at Cossette, Zulu Alpha Kilo and ClarkHuot.

‘Tis the season for shop swapping it seems. Announcements poured in yesterday of creatives accepting new positions at agencies within the past couple of months. They must just be getting used to the new faces in their new places, but in case you haven’t heard, here’s a quick-hit round-up of some of the moves that recently happened within, and outside, Canada.

cossetteMirza Sakovic recently joined Cossette Toronto from Havas Worldwide as the shop’s new digital designer. And in the past couple of months, the agency has added another seven to its digital team. Owen Milburn (formerly at OneMethod) and Heather Kinoshita (Proximity) have joined as its new digital copywriters; Kevin McHugh (Cundari) and Elizabeth Dabous (Dare) as digital strategists; John Fung (Rivet) as digital strategist and analyst; Soumik Sen (Critical Mass) as technology lead and Yulia Danilova (Tribal Worldwide) as project management director.

The flurry of hires, many specifically plucked from digital specialty agencies, is part of Cossette’s strategy to build on its digital strength, and to “think and act in a fully integrated way, while remaining nimble and lean. In today’s world of real-time marketing you must be prepared to respond in real-time and that means agility,” explained Dave Lafond, president of the agency, in a release.

Sean Atkinson and Shawn James, senior writer and senior art director, respectively, have moved to Zulu Alpha Kilo from BBDO.

The creative team worked on the FedEx, Montana’s, Excel Gum, Smart (Mercedes-Benz), Toronto Jewish Film Festival and McDonald’s accounts, among others, while at BBDO.

Scott Christie is now the new creative director at ClarkHuot.

The 23-year industry veteran and former CD at Interbrand Toronto joins the Toronto branch of the New York-headquartered agency as the shop begins to move aggressively toward providing “smarter, more immersive approaches”  for clients, said Edmond Huot, ECD and partner at The CHR Group (the agency’s parent company) in a release.

Kyle Lamb and Kurt Mills, associate creative directors, recently left Toronto’s John St. to join Goodby Silverstein & Partners in San Francisco.
