ITV has released a trailer for the new series of crime drama Vera.

Starring Brenda Blethyn as D.C.I. Vera Stanhope and David Leon as her sidekick, Detective Sergeant Joe Ashworth, Series 4 begins at 8pm on Sunday 27 April on ITV.

The first of four new feature-length films, ‘On Harbour Street’, sees D.C.I. Vera Stanhope investigate the mysterious death of pensioner Margaret Kraszewski (Annabel Leventon), found stabbed on a busy Newcastle train at the height of rush hour. With his daughter a key witness in the investigation, D.S. Joe Ashworth has a personal stake in finding Margaret’s killer.
